Re: With 2 Weeks To Prepare For TCU
They'll be motivated for sure. We'll be at home. Its a rivalry game. Neither team has looked great so far, but TCU has looked much better than us. We get 2 weeks off. . .just a lot of factors to consider.
I will say this however. In my long experience watching SMU, the Mustangs typically get blown out in games that I think could go either way. If I say "Boy, this one could go either way. Tough call", the Mustangs almost always lose like 48-0. This is not a program that has surprised on the up-side too many times.

Had a huge argument with a TCU coworker that almost escalated into yelling about this very subject on Friday. Patterson actually has the fan base believing that June disrespected TCU in his postgame comments last year about "everyone knowing what TCU was going to do today." Of course June meant no disrespect -- it was a compliment! But Patterson is a master motivator and liar of the first order. They truly have circled 9/29 on their calendars and will be looking to humiliate.

On the bright side, I understand that the temporary end zone seats will stay up for the TCU game because they are pretty to look at.
Re: With 2 Weeks To Prepare For TCU
We all know that if we win this game all is forgivin up tp this point.JJ knows it and the players know it.I suspect GG will play lights out with two weeks to prepare.

I truly hope that the bolded part of your post comes true, but I am tired of forgiveness at this point. TCU is a good team, and beating them two years in a row will thrill me to no end, but I'm not willing to shrug off the first three games after just that win. Now, if a win vs. TCU is a pre-cursor to a sweep of the conference schedule, my tolerance level might increase, but the first quarter of this season shows us where we truly stand against superior opponents, and we got a LOT of them coming for us next year and no clear idea how we close the gap. A TCU win does not erase that reality. Hell, a CUSA Championship at this point doesn't erase considering how horrid the conference as a whole looks right now. JJ has to be commended for making us competitive in CUSA and held accountable for not making us competitive anywhere else.

Hold on...a conference title and keeping the skillet wouldn't make you forget the first 3 games of the season that included a QB who has had a lot of time away from the field and learning a new system?????? Look, if GG figures it out, they beat the frogs and win the conference, I'll give a donation for the JJ statue....

Intall a short-yardage 3rd & short/goaline package, or packages.
Work on punting.
Work on stretching the field: skinny posts, fly patterns....VERTICAL.
Be prepared to use all your timeouts in the first half to stay in the game.

Fortunately, the NBE isn't looking a whole lot stronger than C-USA right now.

Someone please let JJ know that he is suppose to be getting our boys ready for the game and has 2 weeks to do it.....don't want him to think it's a mini vacation and he has time to golf.

Cincy and Louisville look pretty strong as usual and they have some decent mid-range teams like UConn and Rutgers. We won't have the Rices and Tulanes to beat up on next year. Only Memphis.

.....and cornerbacks: grow at least 3 inches and increase your speed in the 40 to about 4.4

This. We had a year to prepare for Baylor... This team is ranked #119 in the nation in defense and #75 on offense (YPG) after 3 games
Re: With 2 Weeks To Prepare For TCU
How much time did GG and the brand new o line have to prepare for baylor?
