RC Helicopter at Halftime

Post by RyanSMU98 »

Rather than piling on to the mountain of [deleted] and moaning about that travesty we called a game Saturday, I thought I'd pose a question: My seats are in 103 and during halftime while the MB was playing, a remote-controlled helicopter appeared to be launched from atop the press box, hovered over our section for the performance, and then landed back from whence it came shortly after the band was done. Anyone know what that was all about? I'm guessing maybe it had cameras on it? It was a little distracting hearing the buzz of the rotors while the band was playing, but still more interesting to watch than our offense that day. Just curious. Also wondering if we can't use it to buzz Fatterson in a couple of weeks just to see Grimace jump.

Not sure what it was for, but it definitely had a camera, and the camera did a full rotation during the flight. It was definitely distracting, and loud for such a small vehicle. It had to have gotten some cool footage.

It was a remote-controlled helicopter that took photos. I'll post them when we get them back. Sorry if it was distracting. Thanks to all.

Thanks SMU SID. It was not overly distracting, but noticeable. Glad y'all are doing things like this.

How bout you drop some freebie coupons, or vouchers for some SMU gear off of it during the 4th quarter to reward those of us who stick it out? The Mavs do the same type of things during their games.

PS. When they pick up on this idea, this here is my trademark and the SID can PM me for my voucher/reward.

Maybe it could take the next play to the QB so he does not have to jog to the sideline..I couldn't help it.

Be scared only when you hear Les Nesbitt's voice on the PA, and they drop turkeys out over the crowd in section 104 in November.
