Just seeing if if the people who are yelling for his head think this is still a salvageable season. I'm still on the fence at this point, but just testing the waters 72 hours after the massacre at Ford.

Then you should include not sure yet as an option.

No, looking for a Y/N answer since this seems to be such a galvanizing topic.

Re: POLL: Does JJ have to go?
Edit: Sorry. Didn't see the 9-3 stipulation. Good poll.
Re: POLL: Does JJ have to go?
I think June will barely get to a bowl this year as I have stated before at 6 or 7 wins and that will buy him another your as HC. Then as SMU goes into the BE it will take 2 years in a row of not going to bowl games (which could start next year). That is why I say this could be a slow painful demise for SMU and a mess for the next coach to clean up.

i get that, but the poll is based upon a potential 9-3 finish.Rebel10 wrote:I think June will barely get to a bowl this year as I have stated before at 6 or 7 wins and that will buy him another your as HC. I guess one question that could be asked then is does June stay at 6 or 7 wins. I think he will. 9-3 finish for sure.

Last year was not a good recruiting class. This year probably won't be. But --assuming we're not luckily loaded in those two classes with Cole Beasley diamond in the rough types -- that impact won't be felt until those recruits are juniors and seniors. So we're probably feeling that effect starting around 2015.

Unless recruiting does a 180 degree turn...still a losing formula for BE

We will feel it more than you might think in 2013 as we lose our entire front 3 on the defensive line going into a pretty physical BE. We also lose about 3 starting offensive lineman next year as well along with DJ. We have to get 1 or 2 really good NT's this year imo.

I hope we don't have to rely on linemen who are freshmen or sophomores. That would point to recruiting failures way upstream of this year or last. I don't think that's the case.

Looks like mostly sophomores could be replacing Collins, Free, and McJunkin. I think Duhe could come in and do a nice job. It don't know about Lowe.ponyboy wrote:I hope we don't have to rely on linemen who are freshmen or sophomores. That would point to recruiting failures way upstream of this year or last. The only possible way I consider is if we beat TCU win conf champ and play well against SEC in liberty bowl or bbva if we go to that so we can say we progressed and BCS record 2-2 for entire season. Good luck JJ u will need it if you want to get that goal

I hate to point it out, but I very much doubt JJ has to go until the people paying his salary tell him to.
And that's not to say he needs to go anyway.
