OT: New-look uniforms (non-SMU)

Post by WildHorse »

Anyone else catch any of the first half of the Maryland West Virginia game?

WVU normally has a decent, if not great, uniform, but the Mountaineers rolled out a hideous grey uniform today with the blue and yellow letters/numbers - looks AWFUL.

Maryland, on the other hand, made headlines when it adopted the mess Under Armor created last year, but today, the Terps are going with a clean white jersey/white pants look, with a helmet that has a faint grey on white. The helmet still has room to improve, but compared to those loud state flag-print lids they broke out last year, it's a drastic improvement.

I honestly thought it was Oregon when I first turned the game on.

The MD helmets have the flag design on them. It's just not noticable because the light gray has replaced the bright colors of the flag

Arky's uniforms were hideous yesterday. Have they used those before? Well done Rutgers putting them away.

It's what attracts players. The classic look is overdone and "old".

SMU took a chance on me. I'll never turn my back on it.

I think they said first time for white helmets in 40 years, but I do not remember them 40 years ago. May have been the first time ever. Probably the last. They still have an antracite uniform to introduce sometime this year.

BRING BACK THE GLORY DAYS OF SMU FOOTBALL!!!

For some strange reason, one of the few universities that REFUSE to use their school colors: Harvard Crimson & Yale Blue.

Wow. Thanks for that. So they were wearing white helmets with no face when I was born and that was a lot more than 40 years ago.

OU vs Kansas State looked pretty solid, uniform-wise.
