Re: Tired of TCU Fans
Have attended or watched on TV every game both of these teams have played his year except the SFA game, this game will be like most of the other recent ones between the two teams. Both teams have yet to show up with their "A" games in any contest. If one does and one doesn't, the team that does will win.
Both teams are young and inexperienced, TCU probably a bit more (3 seniors start). Z Line will run for 150-200 yards. Both teams will bring more pressure on defense than they have so far. SMU will go vertical more than they have. TCU will try to stretch the SMU defense with 4 and 5 wide (SMU can't leave #56 alone to cover slot receiver). Jones needs this game more than Patterson if his job is in jeopardy.
Expect a close one.

Of course that's more an indictment of the current regime than it is of you.
technically my statement was "recruit WELL and count to 3-4". SMU under June Jones arguably has only recruited well in relation to most of its CUSA competitors-"recruiting is relative to your competition"

my daughter was in the Mustang Band. a few years ago at TCU, in a driving rain, the band took the field without rain gear (the frog band had full rain gear). after the show the frog fans gave a resounding cheer and applause to the Mustang band. My daughter said the frog fans were much more respectable than say Houston, Tech, A&M where drunk fans taunted skinny band coeds showing off how thought they were. just saying.
To the forgies, I envy TCU’s accomplishments and feel SMU has some degree of hope to emulate your success. I really do like to beat you guys and believe your last two loses at your field were against SMU. This makes a rivalry.
Yea I expect ugliness because we both want to win. But the frogs aren't even in my top ten in terms of irritating fans. There will always be some short-sided youngins' that think the frogs have always been this good. Also, as long as we continue this game, we benefit from mutual success. Can't say we held up our end of the bargain last year. But we were able to go bowling and beat up a bad BCS team....

I actually enjoy some of their posters here. Reed and some of the others seem to be pretty good people (at least considering that they are from tc-who)

Normally, as a TCU fan, I wouldn't post, out of respect.
But the downtrodden vibe on this board makes me want to puke.
Pull it together.
IMHO, It's a raw deal that June Jones is still at SMU.
If he would resigned immediately for the good of the program, there might be a sense of renewal here.
Does anyone here believe that this hasn't affected recruiting?
Hopefully he finds his dream job quickly.
smh
As far as the game goes, I expect a knockout, dragout brawl, as usual.
TCU hasn't played well this year, the game is at Ford stadium, and rain looks likely.
This has all the makings of a perfect storm for tiny frogs.
Good luck and may the best team win.

Should have stuck with that instinct you had to not post.

Never understood why people bash Stallion. I've always enjoyed reading his posts and you can tell he wants the best for SMU. He's not being negative, just realistic. He makes valid points and I agree with them.
The longer June is with SMU, the further down we're going. He's reached his peak, but now is on the decline. We need to let him go at the end of the season at the latest. His apathy for recruiting is unacceptable. We get trashed by mid-tier BCS teams because their recruits trump ours. College football is all about recruiting and this upcoming class is a poor one. I think only one committ has a BCS offer. Future doesn't look bright. Change needs to be made.

It's because he's an a-hole. But agreed he generally knows what he's talking about.

That's not what I was picking up.....
It almost seems like SMU fans have been hit by a tsunami, followed by an earthquake and then by raging plagues of locusts, forest fires, tornadoes, and Californians moving to Dallas.
As you sit amongst the charred, jagged edges of utter chaos and destruction,
it could be difficult to remember that SMU IS a great program, with a storied history.
As far as June goes, has he apologized to SMU?
Some sense of humble acknowledgement that he made a mistake?
If not, then he needs to do that for the good of the program, to give SMU fans the chance to forgive him.
Otherwise, he's carrying baggage and SMU fan resentment with him everywhere he goes.
In the big picture though, SMU football is much more than any single coach.
SMU is by far the most dangerous team that TCU faces.
SMU will always have 1935 scoreboard on TCU. And 2005 scoreboard. And 2011 scoreboard.
Throw the records out, doesn't matter who is playing, this rivalry is what college football should be about.
Make no doubt, the Ponies will be ready to play.
We just need to make sure TCU brings back the Iron Skillet to Fort Worth in 2012.

Do a search for "overhead projector" (I'm not kidding) and read the thread Tweets at the Coach Lunch

I think part of the problem is that June Jones believes he is the end all and be all to SMU football.

LOL. Probably true. TCU has built a nice program and they have done an excellent job of building a fan base in Fort Worth. Fort Worth has great museums and culture but in many ways it really is a big small town as opposed to Dallas which is more cosmopolitan. And I don't say that in a condescending way. Consequently, I think that the town is more cohesive and more proud of its hometown school I also think that TCU's student body and alums don't appear quite as snobbish as some of us. And I desperately want to beat the Frogs every damn year!
