Bennett had his guys "headhunting". I've never seen a team tackle helmets like they did at Baylor. Might have had something to do with the new rule of coming off the field for a play; knowing how JJ likes to stay with the same group of 4...looked to me like it was part of a plan to keep our offense off balance
Our wr's have looked pretty timid for sure. And at the Baylor game, I haven't seen that many head shots since our Cotton Bowl game with Pitt. Neither time was it coincidence, it was instructed.
you would too if you were getting cheap-shotted over and over with no calls from the Big 10, 12, whatever officials. hope we don't have that same crew this weekend...

That is what I have noticed too ponyscott. I think TCU was the first but it seems to be more popular. And that is when playing smaller faster receivers that when you finally catch them rather than dragging them down or tackling them they try to drive them into the turf...preferably at an angle where they can cause dislocated shoulders, broken collarbones and concussions. They wrap them up so the receiver doesn't have any control with their arms and hands to cushion the blow when hitting the ground. At best the receiver is flat hurting by the fourth quarter and not very effective. TCU had a lb a few years back who is in the pros now who finished the seasons of a couple of opponents qb's and at least 1 receiver

no rule about tackling around the helmet. You don't see it because of the risk for facemask calls or horsecollar, but as I watched that Baylor game, I thought it was pretty obvious and I just assumed that was Bennett's idea/plan. Just taking advantage of the new rules...and their D imposing it's will on our smurfs.
