The Coogs go down to the Mustangs when we play you guys.

Hasn't happened in years and won't happen this year either. Kolb, Keenum and Piland have all picked apart the pony secondary.

This is why I hate the toads. They're even sore whiners (err winners). Go back to cowtown, you have no room to be giving excuses. You got 5 interceptions and you're complaining about the weather? Loser. Accept the fact your team is actually not that good. It's not saying much to beat this year SMU's team.
I think TCU fans may be in for a really disappointing year in the Big XII. No way that team is deserving of a #15 ranking. Better than us...obviously...but might struggle to go 5-4 in Big XII
I can't help but wonder whether Patterson sees the handwriting on the wall and bails out before TCU becomes a "middle of the pack" school and he eventually gets fired by the same people who have come to adore him for winning at Division I-a level in CUSA and MWC
Patterson can stay at TCU until he wants to leave. They will never fire him after all that he has done to build that program. That said, they were terrible tonight. Absolutely no running game, terribly undisciplined, and dang near lost this one even after being given 5 turnovers. If we had a below average offense we win that game. The real shame is that we have a legitimate running threat with power and ability, but he plays in a terrible gimmick offense that doesn't give him a chance on 1st and goal from the 3.

Ridiculous. How do you figure that the weather was the reason. Did you see how many passes were dropped by SMU? Your offensive line is horrible, your pass defense is suspect, and you are about as disciplined as the Dallas Cowboys. You won a game by 8 after being given 5 turnovers. That is pathetic. Watching the two Big12 games I saw today, I see 4 teams that will wipe the floor with you.

the program was actually built by Sullivan and Fran (who won when Sullivan's recruits grew up). Patterson has done a great job building on what they had in place, but remember they had enough succeess that Fran parlayed in into a gig with Bama and A&M. Let's not give Patterson credit for rehabbing the same kind of program that JJ inherited here
You can't fire a Coach over a rivalry game loss, that's why they call them rivalries.. June rubbed Patterson's nose in it last year, he graduated a number of players and a team can only rebuild and add slowly to the talent pool. Unfortunately, in a Capitalistic society competition rules the day and SMU is not going to get Mac Brown, Skip Holtz, or even Gary Patterson for that matter, because if Patterson ever left TCU he would have his pick of programs! If, SMU fired another Head Coach so quickly potential recruits would just write SMU OFF as a possible.. So be careful what you wish for you just might get it.

What recruits? Exactly none, we might lose the one good one who's a TE who probably wouldn't play much since system doesn't really use TEs so I think it's the best time

The good recruits wrote us off when June or someone on the staff recruited them for ASU pre-maturely. Our current recruits are not very good....that's the problem. Bad recruiting will eventually show on the field and you're seeing it right now. No depth, special teams players with no speed, etc.
