Heritage Hall

Does anyone know who the contact person is for memorabilia donations to Heritage Hall? I know Matty Bell's daughter was working on it at one time but have not heard lately. Are there any plans for additional displays? I know it takes money, but it sure is off to a good start.

Thanks for your interest in Heritage Hall. My name is Gerry York and I am Co-Chair of the Heritage Hall Committee. You can reach me at 972-387-6711 to discuss any memoribilia contribution.
We have just completed the final design of Heritage Hall and are preparing to try and raise the funds to start construction.

Construction? What kind of changes are being made to it?
I like it a lot the way it is, but I'd love to see additions. Having more of a presence of the past greats like Doak Walker and Eric Dickerson and Forrest Gregg and Raymond Berry, etc., can only make the whole SMU experience more impressive to SMU recruits and to fans who visit and realize the great tradition we have.

The display that is in Heritage Hall currently was only suppose to be there for a short time until funding was obtained to construct Heritage Hall -- which will be an athletic museum that tells the history of S.M.U. athletics. The museum will contain a great deal of interactive material, including game films of such games as the 1935 season and 1936 Rose Bowl game featuring the great Bobby Wilson. There will be plenty of Doak and Kyle, including the 1949 S.M.U. vs Notre Dame game. Lots of Jerry Levias and the Pony Express plus great basketball games like the S.M.U. vs Kansas(Jim Krebs vs. Wilt Chamberlin) besides a lot of unbelievable memoribilia. That is the construction I am talkling about! Now all we need is funding which we are preparing to make known.
