Their running back who ran all over OU is back, and they like to give it to him because of his talent. Their 2 DL who were in the backfield alot against Wisconsin when the game was at Wisconsin are also back. If you watched that game at all they will be handful for our OL.

Unfortunately, I think the 2 points is too low...

This game seriously scares me. If SMU isn't winning at halftime, don't you HAVE to bench Gilbert? SMU is bigger and deeper than UTEP on paper, but I can't see them pulling it out with their current situation at QB. Due to the tough non-conference schedule, the margin for error is very slim. Need to go 5-3 in conference JUST to hit bowl eligibility. I was hoping SMU would come out of conference play 2-2, and the rest team was good enough to achieve that, but they never got a chance due to terrible quarterback play. GG is a sunk cost, June needs to give Connor Preston a shot in El Paso

Luckily there are some completely god awful teams like Memphis, Tulane, and Rice on the schedule, but it is pretty bad if they can't take care of business against a vastly inferior (talent-wise) UTEP team.

every game on our schedule should scare us because we've shown little ability to score points on the offensive side of the ball. Let's just hope the D can set the table with good field position and thisis the week the offense finally begins to gain some confidence. I really want these guys to be on a roll and 5-3 before heading to Orlando...my only chance to catch a game this year

I understand that there have been some...factors...this particular season that has led to this opening line. However, I will simply add this to the empirical evidence that things need to change for the better, and fast. We are now 56 games into a regime where expectations are, err should be, markedly higher than being road dogs to UTEP.

I don't care that we have sucked in El Paso. I don't care that they play well in the Sun Bowl. I don't care that they played a tough OOC and hung with some big guys. This is the kind of crap the Jones investment was supposed to mark the end of. We're five years in, with a roster comprised 100% of Jones recruits with competitive admission standards, yadda, yadda. We should throttle garbage CUSA programs.

I'm looking forward to a comfortable double digit win this Saturday, because that is what we ought to be achieving and expecting by this point. Make it happen guys.

If it makes anyone feel better, on yahoo (despite my first time picking SMU) we have 0% of people selecting us to win..

Who cares how mad they are? What are they going to do, slap the ball back at the DBs? Until they learn to catch I have ZERO expectations for the rest of this season, and until June is gone the same is true for this program.

Tell us how you really feel.

We will spank UTEP. 17 point win.

I was dead on. 17 point win.

I'll take the shutout of UTEP in their house. First time they've been shut out since 2003.
