Why should people move if they are sitting in their stadium-opening-season tickets well before kickoff and this one jack wagon chooses to stand in the middle of everybody with ten minutes left in the first quarter? He was asked nicely to put down his huge golf umbrella or sit down and he flipped out using some not so nice language towards ladies, children and others in the area including some big time lettermen...even though he was wearing a rain coat with a hood. And all because he didn't want to get his pants wet. But he sure put that umbrella down when the Sheriff escorted him out.
Bottom line is that he could have been courteous or moved himself, but he chose to be a hotheaded jerk. Not to worry Pony Fans, he's not a true representation us. As dude so proudly exclaimed while holding his Arkansas Razorback umbrella...HE went to ALABAMA!
Re: Umbrella etiquette
I made the comment that I thought relaxing the umbrella rule was good for this game for one reason : family weekend, and had they enforced it, what families that did head into ford with their cute coed daughters in tow and designer umbrellas would've turned and left, more pissed at dear ol SMU. Not a good thing with the previously mentioned $4 million giant check photo op.

Re: Umbrella etiquette
I had an umbrella only so my girlfriend who was already sick could keep like 50% of the rain out... Sorry to anyone that was annoyed but to be honest I put her before any of you

Re: Umbrella etiquette

Re: Umbrella etiquette
Lol, I only have purple raingear. So I had to overdress with the fancy raincoat and Indian Jones style hat.

Haha funny you say that, I brought my cousins husband who is unfortunately a frog, however he stopped to get a Pancho at the Walgreens off the NW hwy, and got the very last one, which happened to be blue. What section were you in PB?
Re: Umbrella etiquette
I told one guy that I **really** appreciated his enthusiasm, he was there, and he was standing... but that his umbrella was so big that I was 4 rows back, and still could not see.
I said the umbrella was fine, standing was fine, but please don't do both.
He was very gracious, and put it up. His girlfriend seemed to be quite annoyed. But later, when they switched to the umbrella, they sat down.

Ah there was someone behind me wearing the same get up screaming at the umbrella guy with the Cox business school hat! Haha, sorry I didn't get to stop by your tailgate, I was late getting there because of the weather.

Re: Umbrella etiquette
I can not believe people actually think it is a good idea to bring an umbrella to any stadium event. Talking about selfish behavior! For those who think it is a good idea, stop and think for a minute. When the water hits your umbrella, where do you think it goes? I tell you where it goes. It runs off on the people directly in front, behind and besides you. Congratulations! You maybe dry but everyone around is soaked. Also they impede other's site lines. Leave the umbrellas at home!!

It IS inconsiderate behavior and I wish the regs were enforced!
Long live Inez Perez!
Re: Umbrella etiquette
Yeah, well unfortunately the water coming off my umbrella had to travel quite a ways to get on anyone considering that there weren't many people around. Had there been people around me I would not have used it, or had an event staff said anything then I would not have used it. I didn't bring it in planning on using it, but when it was apparent that it wouldn't affect anyone, I decided why not?

Re: Umbrella etiquette
yes on the bright side if we start playing more creampuffs along with Big East competition-we are all going to have plenty of space to spread out huge umbrellas in the near future.
