Quick someone pull GG aside and tell him to listen very carefully on what Timmy Chang says to him. Then tell GG to do the opposite.

IMO these are issues above and beyond the excuses.
I realize that not everyone is able to come out to practice.
But trust me when I say that anyone who has been able to make practice at any point this fall would tell you that GG has more talent than any QB we have had on campus for 25 years. It isn't even a question.
He is head and shoulders better than any QB we have from a talent standpoint. It isn't close. Burcham is going to be really good too - that is why he is taking so many snaps in practice.
Obviously, he hasn't shown all of this in a game. But this past game was way, way better. The touch pass to the left hand side down the field was way overthrown the last few games, but was dropped twice this game. He actually took something off some of the shorter throws. Drops killed us more than GG.
Honestly, every team remaining on the schedule is beatable. But to get to 6 wins, we have to win UTEP, Rice, Tulane, and Memphis, and take one from USM, UCF, Houston, and Tulsa. Jones isn't going to sacrifice a bowl game waiting for GG to come around. If we are losing against UTEP in the second half, I bet that some changes will be made...

Connor Preston has to be relieved that he's not on the field with those AWESOME WRs!

RESPONSE: Maybe he is doing what's best for the team? Perhaps he genuinely believes in GG. More importantly, what does that say about the other QBs if he's willing to keep GG in the game? I think we're just guessing here...
Even though you are "playing devils advocate" I couldn't agree more! And to carry it further, just maybe, JJ feels, as do I, that GG is very very close to putting it all together. With a little help from his receivers this weekend we might see the talent all come together!
I am one of the biggest pessimists on this board, but I truly believe that GG is not as bad as his stats say. I really think he will tear it up in C-USA once he gets used to the offense. How many months has he had in the offense? 4? A lot of people here need to give him a break. The wide receivers/special teams have been the most disappointing units so far (I give the edge to WRs).

Didn't Chang set the record for interceptions? It looks like GG is listening to him about how to throw those.

Re: Thoughts on June handling Gilbert
For those RnS guys out there, is it that the RnS is more prone to interceptions than others systems since reads come from both the QB and the WR.
My sense is that type of system with so many moving parts makes mistakes either on the QB or the WR more likely thus more picks. Our QB play since JJ'S has been here seems to bare that conclusion out.

Re: Thoughts on June handling Gilbert
I keep hearing that this guy looks great in practice but it doesn't transcend to the game. There is a good reason for that. It's the blue shirt he wears in practice. It serves as a stop sign, as in don't hit. When game time comes the Qb wears either white or red and the defense does try to hit him and often succeeds with this offense. I would normally suggest changing to a blue jersey but the way the team played in 2008 I don't think JJ would go for it. Maybe they should wear black? Bottom line: some guys can take a hit and still play. Others, not so much.
