Makes sense. The comment a few weeks ago that TCU/SMU may not be an annual event in the future begs the question: if not TCU, then which one team in the Big 12 do we book? Baylor? Texas Tech? OSU? As for a SEC school, I suggest Ole Miss, which would bring us near Memphis every year. I love Vandy (daughter is an alum) and Nashville (an eight hour drive from Chicago), but the Dores may not travel as well.TidePony wrote:Once the new rules come out, and we see how many conference games we have to play (8 or 9 - it looks like the SEC is going to play 9), then we can worry about cupcakes. From what I'm hearing, everyone will have to play tougher games which in the end will helps the Big East. An undefeated Big East team that has played at least two quality opponents plus the championship game will be in the playoffs - you can bank on it. I'm hearing this from some ole barrel chested SEC know it alls! So, to get ready we need to play at least one Big 12 team and one SEC team (Vandy, Miss schools, etc.). That should set us up for success, I know that's the plan for Bama, Aubey, and LSU.
That leaves us two more friendly games to schedule. Would could add back Rice for that matter.
Finally, do we know the division set up for BE yet? I hope SDSU is in our division. Have reasons to be in San Diego regularly, plus a West Coast rival would be good for recruiting.
