SMU by 9 over UTEP
Hope you are right. At this point, nothing short of a CUSA championship will erase the sting of those non-conference losses
Got to disagree with the author about JJ hot seat, much as some on the board want. No doubt Price has issues with that, but JJ just came off 3 straight bowls and our losses were to Top 30 teams. Of course, a total meltdown during the rest of the season is another matter.
edit: oh, and he has years left on his contract.
Go Ponies!! Beat whoever it is we are playing!! @PonyGrad
I can't believe UTEP really would be stupid enough to fire Coach Mike Price. Its almost impossible to recruit out there, and Coach Price is the only coach to ever really have any success at UTEP. People forget the job Price did at Washington State, which went into a downward spiral after Coach Price left WSU. Coach Price got the Alabama job from Washington State, which did not last long because of Price hooking up with a hooker at a conference meeting. That downfall took him to UTEP from Alabama. Still at the time, Coach Price was one of the best NCAA coaches in the country. I remember at the time wishing SMU had considered him, as we were in the middle of the unsuccessful Bennett years.

PS. Glad my Bucks won but love MSU. Uncle live on golf course in Okemos and I spent a lot of time at MSU.
ditto, but we have at least one other player like Zack, his brother, Prescott. I am looking forward to see him hit the field soon.

Price has had 6 straight losing seasons (high probability for a 7th). Being in a place that's difficult to recruit to is no excuse for being awful, plenty of other mid-major coaches are having success in locales similar to or worse than El Paso.
They who would give up an essential liberty for temporary security, deserve neither liberty or security
I dunno-there are is no decent football recruiting hotbed within 800 miles (isn't it closer to California than DFW) and Mexico is to the South and dessert to the West. Its just about impossible for UTEP to have a consistent winning football program

When momentum starts rolling downhill in recruiting-WATCH OUT.
Interesting thought, June hasn't been on the hot seat since he went to Hawaii. I wonder if he is feeling some pressure and how he reacts. He might of thought we would be satisfied like UH was and he could coast. Funny thing with success some SMU are hungry for more.
