Re: Stay classy, Patterson
But I still think he blew the chance to differentiate himself from other "elite conference" coaches. He and the admin fell in quite well the the Big 10, 11, 12 machine. Please argue otherwise. If still in a weaker conference, Pachall would not be in uniform. But the pressure to wine every game has overtaken common sense especially given that it is your first year in the conference.

I honestly have no idea what that means? What flavor is your punch??? I already said I am fine with him being suspended for the year...soccermom wrote:It was linked somewhere on one of our boards........you're welcome to read all the threads! This is very clear and the former is actually backed up by data.soccermom wrote:I didn't take the time to read all the pages of this thread, so if someone has already posted it, I apologize. I don't understand why anyone is surprised.......Fatterson said his #1 priority was WINNING...I mean, seriously, he gets his $$$$ from winning, not helping his players overcome their addictions. Why would we expect more from him than that?!?

Re: Stay classy, Patterson
They should make him wear the frog mascot uniform without the head!!!
Re: Stay classy, Patterson
They should force him to play on "Dallas' team" or does he already?

Can you show me where patterson said his #1 priority is winning? I must have missed that. Thanks in advance.[/quote]
Not an indictment of him really as that is his job. But to say he is not worried about winning games above the best thing for this kid given how he has handled him now and in the past is laughable. You can not objectively say he has done right thing here for this kid. Even LSU parted ways with Honeybadger.
I'm not a TCU hater at all, but how this is being handled I do not think reflects well on him or TCU which is a great school. To place this one kid above others like the WR he suspended earlier this year and not eliminate him from the program doesn't make sense. Both Patterson and TCU would make great PR for themselves if they said they were suspending him from the team so that he could focus on getting help and getting better, that their players welfare was their number one priority, and that not one person was above the program. But they haven't,
Also if comes out he really has been trying to influence the investigation and interfere with the police on their arrests for this kid, he will look even worse and implicate the school and the program.

Wrong, but don't let facts get in the way. His first official statement issued said "Casey Pachall has been suspended indefinitely from competition. My job as a head coach is to win games, educate our kids and help them with their lives." He then was told in part by the SID he needed to clean up the statement and did so.FroggieFever wrote:He never said that. If he is suspended for the year, you think Patterson will file a medical waiver?

Ch. 4 just said he will not suit up or be on the sidelines, he will watch the game at stallion's house.

They went out cruising for old chicks together last night, and then they are gonna pop a few cold ones and drive around after the game.

I just read that in Star Telegram, I'm wondering if this is due to backlash of his original decision to have him on the sideline. Only reason I can think of.BIGHORSE wrote:mrydel wrote:I am reading now that he will not suit up.

Fox Sports just had the official quote before the game started. Exactly what I posted before, with his first comment being his job was to win games. But again, don't let facts get in the way of things.FroggieFever wrote:He never said that. His number one priority is graduating his players and mentoring them to be model citizens.
