this SMU team may be one of the better defenses in CUSA

Yeah, corner depth is the only thing really lacking right now.
Randolph and Joyner have had very promising influences on the overall athleticism of the defense. They have taken it up another notch.
The big problems we had in the A&M and Baylor games were with the number of possessions. Because those teams really played hurry up, the clock didn't move much. Even thought the overall TOP was even in both games, in reality the effectiveness of our defense and inability of our offense resulted in an incredibly high number of possessions in both games - like 20 for each team.
Those teams had depth in the secondary so that they could switch players out and stay fresh. We didn't, and when the backups in the secondary had to go in, we were in trouble.
That said, I thought Robinson actually did a decent job out there today, and I think Montes is going to be okay once we start working him into the rotation (once he is ready). Hopefully that happens by the Houston game...
