Running Backs
The end of Saturdays game showed me a lot about our other running backs. Seeker was exceptionally quick with a completely different style than Line. Wembley showed tremendous power. If JJ would utilize these guys sporatically, giving the other teams 3 different looks in the backfield to worry about, it would hold the linebackers, opening up more space for our receivers.
Outside the 5's I would mix in Seeker with Line giving the opposing D two completely differents running styles to stop. When we get inside the 5, I would give it to Wembley, (4 times if necessary) and let him bulldoze his way into the end zone.
I just hope JJ saw the same!

"We do what we do", the only way we're going to see any of those backs in anything but garbage time is if Line gets injured.

Well if you look back at Line's freshman year he mixed it up a bit with Shawnbrey. Zach came in for short yardage/goaline situations. McNeal handled the carries from the 20 to 20.

Re: Running Backs
This makes a lot of sense. It will help Line be more productive by giving defenses something else to think about. At least one would think so.

Re: Running Backs
Power I with Line at full back and Seeker at tailback.
Then throw to Dieter or Line out of the backfield.
Isn't this short yardage or goal line standard?

Just send 'da money.
Re: Running Backs
I say we go to a large wishbone package and use our receivers who have been converted from high school qbs to run it. Looks like we could get 3-5 yards every play and also helps our great defense by not turning the ball over with int's that could be returned for td's. D Royal would be so proud. Pull out the R @ S only for 2 minute and long yardage 3rd downs. Mason to head things up with Suan and Phillips co off coordinators and morrison/jones as grad assistants. Forget about the pride and just win.

We're going to be seeing a lot more of the other backs this weekend.
