The growth in TV exposure for all NCAA teams has led to a dramatic decline in attendence. It is a new world. I wish I had a study of those former season ticket holders and suite holders at Texas Stadium and Cowboy Stadium. I bet the turnover would shock everyone--"its a longer drive, the tickets cost more, the options are more expensive, the big screen forces everyone to forget the play on the field, etc." and of course "its on TV and its free". I can't tell you the number of families I knew, that went to every game for two decades and planned their social life around them--no more.

I saw a documentary on the Cowboys move to Jerryworld. In regard to their mandatory ticket requirements, after the first season there, the Cowboys had to file over $80 million in lawsuits against defaulting ticket holders due to the dismal season record.

All of those are reasons our company dropped ours. Still have some tix in the stands for vendors/clients but we rarely use them internally.
Ok this is getting ridiculous...I agree with Dutch on THIS ONE POST by him totally

TCU will still have decent attendance because the opposing team's fans will show up to watch their team destroy Patterson. On another note, don't be surprised if the Hogs or Kentucky flirt with Patterson (or heaven forbid Auburn and Tennessee). Winds of change and discontent are starting to blow in the SEC. Coaches get fired quickly when they lose key games and have losing records. Patterson could be a target.

Actually the modern age of TV coverage (circa 1980-2012) in College Foootball has spurred greater, unprecedented attendance at College Football games. College Football is red hot right now. Look around the country-schools are bulding newer larger stadiums. Take a look around Texas where UT, A&M, Texas Tech, UH, TCU, Baylor, Arkansas, OU, OSU have all seen attendance go way up in comparison to any other period in the last 50 years. Now private/metropolitan schools like Rice and SMU who failed to establish a competitive model largely based on academic issues have fallen way behind in attendance to schools like TCU, Baylor and UH which did.
"With a quarter of a tank of gas, we can get everything we need right here in DFW." -SMU Head Coach Chad Morris

When momentum starts rolling downhill in recruiting-WATCH OUT.
