These are 18-21 yr old young men. They need to see a coach show he cares.
They aren't grown men making millions.

Yep, exactly. Phil Jackson was well known to just let his players play through adversity. But JJ ain't no freakin' Phil Jackson and we are not the Bulls or Lakers. Very very different. I cringe to say it, but we need a Kliff Kingbury type (young, innovative, and hungry).

It was interesting what Jimmy Johnson said about June Jones recently. Something about how good of an Xs and Os guy he is, but then something about about the intangibles. . . .

That's clever, getting Fatterson in on our wipeout by Tulane. I guess if it makes us feel better...

JasonB wrote:Well, one thing we can say for sure - the receivers aren't dropping passes. the completion percentage is around 50%, 3 near picks... there have been some good things with the offense, we have 185 yards of offense, but the inconsistancy of gilbert is really hurting us. I wouldn't be surprised to see CP in the second half.

Positives: Darius looks good. He really struggled when he played earlier this year, but it looks like he is starting to understand the offense better.

Negatives: Lasecki is really, really struggling today. Two penalties and is responsible for two of the three sacks.

Hopefully 28 can get the blown coverage TD out of his head, because he was playing well up to that point and kind of fell apart on the last two drives.

June and his staff are not looking to good now as well in case you forgot to mention that.

and the defense will open the 2nd half on the field. they need to make a stop or this one could be over early. we have no offense and coming back from 14 down may be more of a challenge than these guys can handle

Can't believe I am saying this, but I long for the days of JJ McDermott.

I don't think the players are going to give up. They may get down on themselves, but that's what the HEAD COACH is for! That's why LEADERSHIP is so important -- to stay positive, keep the energy high and say "we're going to win this thing and this is how we're going to do it . .. Final score SMU 38-20. Now let's go do this thing!"

I do agree that college kids tend to respond to a coach who shows a little emotion now and then

Nothing against McD but he wouldn't be faring any better, his OL and receiving corps was much better. Him behind this OL would be a freaking disaster.
