Mea culpa: June Jones has to go

Post by East Coast Mustang »

I've been the biggest JJ supporter/defender on this board for years, but he needs to go after this season. What an embarrassment. What a disaster. I'll change my signature as soon as I sober up. I figured before the season we'd start 1-3 and lose to Baylor, A&M, and TCU. I have no problem with us losing to better teams. But this, today, is a complete disaster. Tulane is AWFUL. June came here five years ago, did some pretty awesome things, but it's time for a new direction. Our recruiting is pitiful, and games like today prove that we don't have the schematic advantage we thought we had. Wow. I can't believe I'm typing this. I wonder if Jeremiah Gaines will decommit by the time I finish writing this post? I've fought the good fight for years, but I've given up on JJ after today. I hope some people with some deep pockets on the CoC agree with me. Bring on Bobby Petrino.

I agree with everything but the Petrino part.

FIRE JUNE JONES NOW.

East Coast, I'm with you. I've supported JJ, up until today.

It stops today.

No more.

He needs to go.

Should be immediately, but the administration will let him play out his season I think.

Not sure what would be achieved by firing June midseason, but whatever.

Fire June now, begin talks with other coaches. Get a head start in the coaching carousel for the sake of recruiting..

He would not be calling the shots

A major improvement.

Wow, what a terrible, terrible loss. Just terrible. I'm not sure what else there is to say. Agree that the great June Jones experiment has run its course.

There's nothing being achieved with him staying for another game. Easy as that.

I've changed my opinion after this game as well. No longer on the fence. Time to go after a new coach.
It's a crappy job but someone's gotta do it.

Addition by subtraction.

And it sends a message that we don't have a loser mentality. We want a winner.

June, thanks for what you've done that's been positive, but don't let the door hit you on the way out.
