seriously? you didn't see Zach run like a maniac for 177 yds? you didn't see Gilbert come to life and lead us on two scoring drives when our backs were to the wall? you didn't see a defense that played most of the 2nd half as well as they have all year? you didn't see the FG kicker who everyone wanted to tar and feather last week nail a 52 yarder?
we lost. it hurts. but you are one of the most negative people I've ever seen on this board. you need to go get some tonight. it will make you feel better. SMU wins & losses don't have to ruin your life.
If Hover hadn't missed the one kick we wouldn't be having this conversation.
what are you suggesting? it wasn't all JJ's fault?? that's going against the grain
This is one of those games that teach youngsters that winning by 1 point on the Road especially in Conference is always a Great Win. Heck we've rarely won in New Orleans in my life
"With a quarter of a tank of gas, we can get everything we need right here in DFW." -SMU Head Coach Chad Morris
When momentum starts rolling downhill in recruiting-WATCH OUT.
First my writings are typically not serious, and though its negative I'm not actually like throwing [deleted] everywhere lol
Second, that's great ZL, GG were pumping it up but the main part you said was, " when our backs were up to the wall" that should have never happened and FG or not, he should have kicked so much rather our coach should go for the 4th and 1 situations.
Finally, I'm sad for our fans, upset for our band who is loyalists of loyals. I'm truly worried for our next 5 seasons... That's all

unfortunately, we now have to win out at Ford against teams that are for the most part going to be better than we are. Looking like the "run" is over

You sound very negative! just kidding but it's kind of hard not to be right?

lol...give the kid a break. He's young, blurts out what's on his mind... if i didnt know better I'd say he is the little brother of "StallionsModelT" but '11's heart is in the right place he is passionate about SMU. and gosh could we use more like him! (plus I like his politics)

Lol that's true I have been known to say thing before thinking about it, unfortunately I don't know SMT but can't be all that bad
Yes I couldn't love a school more than I do for SMU. I'm 99% sure I'm the only one wear a Peruna hat during the game and blvding.
However too much of me on this board might send myrdel, calallen, and some others to the hospital....
I'm glad you like my politics, seems like outside of the two bubbles I have lived in, people kind of feel the opposite.... Very sad indeed especially the future occupy people at our school (human rights majors) lmao

You mean future welfare recipients
Yes exactly only thing is (and fortunately for us) the welfare payments come from mommy and daddy's bank account
So we've gone from "let's show we can be competitive with the big boys", to "well our real season begins with C-USA", to "winning on the road is very tough, lets win 'em all at home!" Wow, real winner-talk on this board.
We lost a game we were favored by 2+ flipping TDs. You don't lower standards, you find people who meet them.

Lol I know and I lost money on us winning since I knew we couldn't cover the spread ugh sucky sucky team
mea culpa: I want to make a public apology to '11. You are clearly passionate about SMU football and we need thousands more who share your enthusiasm. I know you are young. I just worry that, given the history of SMU football and what we "old timers" have been through in our lifetimes, your passion for SMU athletics could take you over the edge. Here in Charleston, we occasionally have "bridge jumpers" who just decide they can't cope any longer. We just can't aford to lose ANY fans.
Long live the 1500!
P.S.: for those of you who don't understand the 1500 reference, that's the number of truly hard core fans SMU has (and has always had since I started following the program in the 60's) who buy season tickets for both football and bball, attend home games religiously and often travel to see SMU road games.
Even the 1500 have been "tested" in the post death penalty era. Yesterday was just one more test.
