Has anyone successfully" shown cause" in such a situation? Is there precedent to avoid sanctions?

HIre him as an asst. for the rest of the yr and the 5 games are finished. Then HC next yr.

I think this would be a phenomenal hire...after the season, part ways with JJ and start looking around!! Tressel would be a great hire in my opinion...

Tressel would do a good job. When at OSU he recuited heavily on Ohio, built good relations with hs coaches etc. He respected tradition and made sure his teams were well prepared, especially for major rivals. And NO- he didn't play his players. Not the most personable person but can definitely coach.

Tressel -- if he would come to Big D -- would merely use the SMU job as a stepping stone to another, bigger program.

Until SMU is winning national championships, it's going to be a stepping stone program.
