He never told them he would not play LB nor that he did not like it. It was only interest by those other schools. No quote suggested an offer from the other schools.

Excellent. Another example of PonyFans at its best. Speculating as to what he or someone else said, and what might or might not have been thought of him by others, and all while making it clear to a young man who has chosen to come here and play football that most of you wish he didn't.

Rather than misuse my quote, just make your own decision from the quote below. My point was that there was more interest than a standard mailout as evidenced by this. The kid could be delusional but this is what he said:

Tulsa, Kansas, Arizona State, and Purdue had all talked about offering," said Crosby. "They wanted me to play a hybrid linebacker though for them and SMU not only wanted me at safety but were the first to offer so that really stood out."
