1982 - present in the M Club. Longer for season tix. But like Calallen, without a coaching change, I may be signing off.

This is definitely true, and I would be curious as to how they are feeling about things right now (accepting the reality that I will never know the answer given my lowly provisional status as a member of the circle of chumps). I was, and continue to be, of the opinion that the people who invested so heavily in JJ and athletics as a whole did so with the expectation that their legacy from that investment would be their school's return to national prominence. While they have gotten some ROI in that regard (see BE invite and a more level playing field for recruiting, even if given begrudgingly by the admin), by my humble estimation their ultimate goal in their generosity is nowhere near its fulfillment. So the question becomes, are they committed to getting it right (whether that means forcing out JJ, holding him to a higher standard, pressuring the admin for whatever additional changes our coaches feel are needed, etc.), or do they simply write off their initial buy-in as a gamble that didn't pay off and cut bait? My guess is that these individuals don't take kindly to failure in any aspect of their lives or business relationships, so I sincerely hope they use their significant influence to keep pushing SMU to the heights we all believe it can attain.

Season tix and MC member for years and years. In the Mustang Band during and after the DP. I have stood by JJ and his "decisions" much longer than most, but the writing is on the wall. We need an infusion of something fresh and new. JJ got us back to bowls, but it's time to take the next step, and it ain't happening with him.

Thanks, solomouse.

quick question: what makes you think jones is tired of turner, tired of the fight? anything specific? I wonder what his issues are with turner.

Ryan- good analysis. I guess my concern would be their continued interest. As a former professional trader I learned to quickly to cut my losses and move on. I certainly hope they don't have that same attitude.

We all appreciate the contributions that the C of C has made. Hopefully those that have contact with them will reinforce the need for a change and the need for their continued support.

Season ticket holder since 1986, missed 87-88  , then every season since 1989. MC member for most of those years (some years even buying MC memberships as Christmas presents for friends), then in recent years got pissed off at Orsini and quit.

Now that we're trying to promote SMU athletics again (and Steve-O is gone), I suppose in need to jump back on the bandwagon.

All that being said, as crazy as I am about losing to Tulane, I'm not on the fire June bandwagon. In fact, the last time we played in the Superdome, we damn near got beat until JJMcD stepped in for an ineffectual KP and got the offense going. But for the first half and more, it looked like they were going to beat us like a drum.

Bottom Line: The Mustangs aren't a good enough team to overlook anyone, and that (combined with a lot of picks) is what I think happened Saturday.

MC member, FB & BB season tix holder.
I'm the rare dude in my mid 20s who hasn't bailed on SMU athletics after I graduated.
This was the first year since I graduated a few years ago that I didn't get baffled looks from my classmates when I told people I had season tix to both. In fact, a few people who used to roll their eyes actually asked me questions about cost & seats heading into the season.
There's a lot of unfortunate things going on right now - but personally, this is a sad one for me. We're finally getting some (not enough, but some) people to think about rejoining the fold and then we go out and pull this embarrassment of a season.

Allow me to clarify my earlier comment -

I am an MC member, but won't be next year if June is still around. I also hold season tickets but would have no problem moving my tickets to a section where there is no MC donation required.

If I ever get back to Dallas, I'll also purchase BB season tickets.

I've been a member for more years than I wish, but I have more vote in the say so of the Stadium Club elections than the Mustang Club. It isn't a real booster organization when the administration selects all the board members and the president. I think this will be the last year.

I am to the point with this administration's 17 years of BS, that a boycott might be the only thing that would get their attention.
