Mr Pony did June really say it's unfortunate playing UH?
Mr Pony, did June really say it's unfortunate we are playing UH this week? Would he rather be playing Tulane? A D1A team is only allowed to play one D1AA school per year. Could you have misinterpreted what he said? What radio station did you hear June say that?

Can't find a link to the radio post-game.
It was on 1310 The Ticket/.

If we could have "stolen" a victory on the road against the mighty Green Wave (as June likes to say when referring to road games) then the UH quote wouldn't have been so bad. It is like he has it in his mind that certain games they can win, especially if at home, and others he has chalked up losses in other games. Surely this isn't the message he is sending to the team. Most great coaches and teams prepare for games with the belief that if they play smart, hard-nosed football that they can beat anybody with a break here or there or maybe the other team has an off day or a refs call.....even if it is Alabama! Applachian State vs Michigan, Boise St vs Oklahoma, LA Monroe vs Auburn......

To be fair, you're taking this out of context. I asked June if it was good to be playing a game so quick to help get over the loss at Tulane. He said yes, but it was unfortunate that they are playing Houston because they'll be throwing it all around with a wide open offense (or something to that affect). It wasn't as if he was saying he wished they had a I-AA team coming up. Just that a short week isn't the best week to play a team like Houston.
Re: Mr Pony did June really say it's unfortunate playing UH?
When I heard it on the radio, I didn't take it badly.
The question was something to the effect of is it a good or bad thing to be playing again so quickly after a loss like this?
Coog High has always presented some unique matchup challenges to us, we just have less time to prepare for them.

I have yet to see a win against them with my own eyes... i say its more than a challenge.

Our 5 star receiver is going to tear up that secondary.

Texas State isn't a 1aa team anymore. Second, we fired the OC immediately after the game and third, UAB, UNT and Rice all brought that up and we all know what happened in those games.
