he lied about tattoos, relatively speaking he didnt do anything compared to the backstabbing the petrino does at EVERY SINGLE job he gets
He lied to the NCAA. I would say that is pretty serious. You can control Petrino by contract,

That's a fair point. However, when you think of how much the football program in general depletes the school of funds, isn't it worth investing in a real HC that can actually turn the football program into something that is self funding. If RGT only sees the bottom line, this should be motivation enough to turn this around. Being average to below average will never make this program self-sufficient, so might as well shut it down. Hard to quantify the benefit we have from such a poor product on the field, but it's very easy to see how much money it costs. Honestly, based on the returns we've had (or lack thereof), we're better off using the funds for other areas.

this is when you need Sherwood and the guys who bankrolled the Pony Express back supporting the program. There's no rule against overpaying for coaches and it will take a Larry Brown & staff type of investment if you really want a significant upgrade

Honestly, it's not like we're not investing in the football program. We are, but it's being misplaced. Having Jones as the HC is like investing in a stock with no fundamentals and no growth. Everything is pointing down. What most sane people do is to cut their loses. We're throwing good money after bad. It's embarrassing to know Jones is paid $2mm (who knows how much is paid to his coaching staff made up mostly of his cronies) vs. the $750/year salary Dykes is making at La. Tech.

Re: Secret Coach Thread 2012
Honestly I just can't see Turner firing June Jones in 2012 (unless there is some Orsini type really bad blood between them I am unware of). Look at Turner's history with say Bennett, DOH...Turner is very conservative...he likes to wait, he doesn't have an impulsive bone in his body. Plus he might think why be paying big bucks to two guys at once. Turner may think some quarters would say "the guy takes you to three bowls in a row, has one bad season and you fire him?" AD Hart being so new probably won't try and pressure Turner either. Rightly or wrongly I just dont see Turner pulling the trigger this year no matter how many games we lose. I think you guys are whistling past the graveyard.

Why would he want to coach the Cowboys when he is already coaching a team with a competent GM?

Jerry Jones loves Jerry Jones. He would prefer to make himself the coach.....and a scout, the GM and the owner. That way if they ever win again he will get ALL the credit.
