I then sit back and realize, most of us here probably don't know crap about what's going on to make the kinds of comments that are being said.

In other words, it's disgusting, and doesn't solve anything.
Then quit reading the boards. This is a forum where people can say what they want. No one has a gun to your head. I will agree that the kids should be off limits and have been with me. Coaches & admins - fair game. Let er rip!

I, like quite a few not from 250 miles away from Dallas, do know a little about what is going on here. And I do not like it a stinking bit. But mea culpa. On some level, I do feel a bit of responsibility for not being more vociferous during the years we wandered thru the wilderness. Gregg thru Bennett era's. We sat on our collective asses and hoped for change (thanks nobama) from our administration and got zilch. We as a fan base should have stood up to the emperor Turner long ago, but by the time many realized it, he had amassed a ton of power and clout. And in that time frame, we watched tcu lap us as turner, et al twiddled their thumbs while hoping Copeland could steer us to a few wins - enough to keep the rank & file in the corner, and quiet.

No more. I'll defend my right, and anyone else's, to say what they feel on these boards - agree or not. I have also decided I'm going down fighting. To make such positive progress for a couple of years and to then have to sit back and watch us revert to where we started when jones arrived is insane, sad and totally unnacceptable.

The WANGB group caused an incredible amount of anxiety and probably a great big old ulcer for the administration a few years back. For those of you who have called/texted the founders of the group, your message has been received. Prepare to saddle up again troops, you may in the near future get the call to arms.

In the 5th year and coaching as well as into the 6th game of the year and we lose to Tulane. June said publicly that in 4 or 5 games and things should be going well. How long do you want to give him 10 or 12 games? This is typical June to the death supporter junk.

I am ponyscott and I approve of this message.

We need a bright future not a distant past and not continuing mention of the low tier bowl games as evidence of the progress......thanks for the leg up June and we really DO appreciate what you have done for the SMU program, but we CAN be better and anything less is accepting mediocrity. We all know that the scholastic level at SMU accepts only top level professors and corresponding students, then why in the world should we accept less than that at the athletic level?

Well said. The amount of baseless nonsense on here is laughable.

We brought in a 5 star experienced QB and the guy lays an egg. Yeah, that's Jones fault for not vetting him better. I would have gone to the freshman by now. But Jones probably doesn't want to go there again and I can understand that. Why not give Gilbert the Padron baby offense that we had two years ago? I mean perhaps he can figure out those reads and not throw into double coverage.
UNC better keep that Ram away from Peruna

If you are honestly of the belief that there are things this coaching staff has the expertise, desire and commitment to fix - such as offense 101, recruiting, motivation, etc. - then thanks for your opinion. Like I say, I'll defend your right Abu to say what you feel.

I don't have the power, much less desire to prevent anyone from saying anything.
Saying that JJ can't recruit, is just like saying, the current players suck compared to what we could have gotten with a different coach/recruiter.

Poor play calling? Ok.
Players/coaches/administration making mistakes? Ok.

However, making remarks that I've seen since the Tulane game (and certainly leading up to it) reflects poorly on the school when people come here bashing their own. That's not a face you show potential recruits. We're all responsible for that, not just the coaches or administration.

I dont think we will care considering we are STILL the "best" choice for all of our "recruits." Thats only because of our academics haha.

You don't get it. This has been building for years. June is the EMBARRASSMENT. He has done nothing but whine--what a shock since that was his signature in Hawaii. He has: 1. dissed the students and alumni as sh*tty fans, 2. OPENLY REFUSED to honor our traditions , 3. is disrespectful to our school---leaving before Varsity and taking team with him; 4. ASU---if you want to leave-LEAVE don't back out just because you didn't get the job; 5. He can't string together three words without stumbling or mumbling in an interview. I want to make something perfectly clear--I SUPPORT THE YOUNG MEN ON THE TEAM, NOT JUNE JONES. In fact I worry about the messages he sends out to them. He certainly is not teaching them any valuable life lessons by leaving the field prematurely, except that it is ok to be rude and disrespectful. I do not want my son learning from him. Oh, did I mention apparently cowardice is OK that you can't be bothered to be the speaker at the Coach's Corner this week. Do not call us out---call out the person who is stealing, since he certainly is not earning his salary---June Jones.

Does anyone see any analogies or comparisons with time lines and issues of the Doherty era????

This was simply a stunning loss. If you don't have the character to take care of business with the games you should win, then there are a lot of D3 teams out there that could use you.

Yes and No.

JJ is a better coach IMO.

Doh on the other hand was a hard worker, far better recruiter and and much better represented our school and its traditions.

If Doh could have coached as well as JJ, I suspect he would still be here.
