June said in his post game interview that the goal of the team was to get to the Hawaii Bowl. Looks like if they go to a bowl fans need to start getting travel plan together.

Yawn...........we need a coach who truly wants to be the best.........

That's a goal. It's motivation. There's nothing that says that if a few things fall favorably into place we can't exceed a goal.

I have no real expectations for this team even after the win. I hope to be pleasantly surprised but at minimum we can only lose one more to win the west. This team has the ability to do that, but Tulsa and UCF are both solid squads. And other teams like Rice have played some good games. There are no guaranteed wins. I like our chances if we get to the Tulsa game with a chance to win the west. I will be at Rice and home for the Tulsa game if anything magical happens. I am elated that the team decided to embrace the reality that they hadn't really lost anything in NOLA.
And, as always, give me ticket city! No way I could go to Hawaii and I'd love to play a B10 opponent in the Cotton Bowl
I would be ok with the Hawaii bowl. Got lots of AA points and I need a year in mileage run. Xmas in Hawaii does not suck. However, I could also settle for a Liberty Bowl invite where we play Ole Miss and we could have a Battle of the Tailgates.
A trip to Hawaii is a perfect way for June to ride off into the sunset as a success in his mind. This is the best possible scenario for SMU football at this point.
Let's win 6 or 7, go to Hawaii, and have a fresh start with a new coach (and no money owed to June) in 2013.

If that happened June Jones would be a legend in my mind! I would be eternally grateful for his coming to SMU to turn it around and knowing when to leave! He was definitely the right man for the job. As much as many of our fans like to say that anyone could have turned it around, I disagree. He is one of very few coaches who could overcome the losing attitude we had. Going forward, I don't think he is the best option to get us to the next level. Not to say he could not get it done, just that it is not his strength, whereas there are many viable options to build on June's success here. In order to build on his success, he really does need to overhaul the staff to get young, energetic assistants that love recruiting above all else and have strong Texas ties. I don't think he wants to do that and I don't think he really wants to coach in the Big East so to have him leave a winner and us be able to sell his success with a young energetic coach like Sonny Dykes or a proven veteran like Bobby Petrino would be a win win!
I think for fanbase, hawaii would be kind of a sad way to go out. However for the players, since we had a horrible start, it would give them a nice treat before we really hit the floor in the Big East. I hope we somehow pull a great cupcake miracle like last night and blow through UCF and Tulsa. Playing Tenn would be amazing and I think the players would be fine to play a tough SEC opponent.
