The objection is that we want him in one piece at the end of the season. Almost every team in college or the pros will spell their back for at least 5 or so touches a game.

The bubble play i referred to was not the interception - it was the one on the next drive on third down that bounced off the ground, and then we were forced to go 4th and 1. there is just no reason to do that when the game was literally on the line - its third and 1 - you have two shots at it and if you pick up the first down you probably ice the game. why throw yet another crazy bubble - failing and then also stopping the clock. its stuff like that. I know it seems silly when we hang 70+ on Houston to complain about it - but next year those moves get you beat.

yes! ! I nearly blew my vocal chords yelling run the ball on that play.

On the positives, I think Acker is playing as well as Crawford or Moore. He covers well but is also a very sure tackler.

About Zach, couldn't it be about the blocking? Maybe the others are as good at that. In the Houston game he must have saved a sack on several occasions. Even the announcers pointed that out.

Actually, Zach has been a RB on this team for the past four years because he is the best blocking RB on the team and that is why he will play on Sundays. If you noticed in the Houston Game, he picked up his man on the blitzing play, but could not block another player four yards away at the same time. The problem was a bad alignment, not Zach. Get used to his style because his brother Prescott will be the starter for the next four years and it starts with being the best blocking RB available.

For all the good things, we need to be sensitive to others that are suffering. MAny wanted SMU to go 1-11 so a road win over UTEP and the most ever scored by SMU against UH has to be very painful.

For those suffering through SMU victories please know that others feel your pain.

Loftus averaged 47.4 yards per punt which included a net-23 yarder that hit and stopped two yards into the end zone. He must have worked out with Lance Armstrong in the bye week.

That's a little premature, we might have a new HC in place soon and he might not have any use for an arcane 1 RB system.

Three straight games of solid punting from him... I think he is coming around finally.

really would like to see other RBs get a few carries here and there. Not because ZLine isn't a complete beast, but I don't want him to get hurt, as we run our only offensive weapon into the ground at unnecessary times.

also tough to recruit depth at RB if you know only one guy is going to get any playing time
