Is that it was on Thursday, and now there is a Saturday without pony football. Damnit.
As someone who was admittedly 100% down on the team after last week, I am pumped up to see if we can keep this effort up next weekend. Loved the fire the defense played with - in particular Taylor Reed. That guy is a complete beast. Offensively, would have liked to see more from Gilbert, but ZLine and D. Johnson made watching this team a blast on Thursday. Most fun I've had watching an SMU game since TCU game from last year.

So true, I wish I could have been there...
I think Gilbert starts to scramble rather than hope and throw, our offense should look a lot better

Re: Only bad thing about UH game...
The only bad thing is it took 4 and a half hours to get to the end and savor a sweet win. Gilbert was much better. The Oline finally showed up and that is a huge plus. They are finally getting how to run block and that will put added pressure on opponent's D in the future.
One could see before the snap Margus mentally gearing up for a big rush. Wish he did it all the time but when he put his will into it he was unstoppable. His parents being in the stands probably was a motivator.
I can't say enough about Acker's play. The guy made dead stop tackles and was all over the field. Solid as can be at corner.
Special teams finally did what we had hoped from them. Had they played like this (exception was on Kickoffs) earlier in the year it would have made a huge difference.
Line ran well but one can't even begin to appreciate his biggest contribution and that was pass blocking. That is where he was a real beast.
And Darius looked like an all american for the first time this year.
Red Zone offense was 5-6 and the one time without a score was a screwy bobble ball interception.
And the last major drive of 15 plays in 9 minutes was the most exciting part of the game. The clock just kept running and we just kept executing. The difficulty in putting together a 75 year long time possession drive (talk about execution and consistency!) in a critical time of the game is beyond huge. By far the offenses finest moment this season.

I like 2 games in one week!
Yes, I think Gilbert's a decent scrambler. Not sure why announcers were harping on him staying in the pocket, setting feet, etc. I think he can create some plays in this league...
