NFL draft risers

Post by indianmustang »

Taylor Reed/LB/SMU: Reed was barely mentioned in scouting circles entering the season, a surprising development considering the linebacker posted 145 tackles as a sophomore then followed it up with 101 as a junior. This year the feisty defender has improved his play in coverage and has been a nuisance rushing the passer. This was evident during Mustangs' blowout victory over Houston as Reed intercepted two passes, one which he returned for a touchdown, then forced another interception when he blitzed the quarterback. He lacks classic size for the next level. He shows outstanding skill in pursuit and plays smart, disciplined football. Reed will be a good addition in the late rounds for any team needing depth at linebacker and a special teams ace.

Ray Lewis: 6'1 240
Taylor Reed: 6'0 240

....why talk if you only have negative, ignorant things to say?

Perfect size for a Tampa 2 LB, hell I've seen 3-4 teams like GB use even smaller LBs like DJ Smith (5"11" 235). Reed is always around the ball and hits hard, some NFL team will be able to use him.

Ha, no chance that Tank and Ray Lewis weigh the same. I don't care what rosters say.

I don't give a crap what position he plays.. I just hope the NFL will give him a look, then offer him a spot on a team.

He deserves a shot. No matter what, he has had a great career here at SMU.

he will get a long look from NFL teams...thanks in part to June Jones. many on this board may disagree, but there are plenty of NFL people who still respect JJ's opinion as a talent evaluator. Admittedly he goes overboard with some comparisons, but he helps his guys get a look and I'm sure those with aspirations of playing at the next level appreciate his being an advocate

so's cole beasley. he'll never even sniff the field at the next level. probably won't even make it on to anyone's practice squad.

His stock just rose on Thursday before a national crowd.

Speaking of Beasley. I'm hearing that he's gonna be on the active roster this week against the Giants. With the way Ogletree has been playing, he may see some good PT sunday.
