DE positions next year?
Hunt and Grenier will be gone next year. I know Barnes has gotten playing time this year, but who else has a "starting" chance?
With the exception of Barnes, they're all freshman this year.
Again, with the exception of Barnes, I don't believe the other guys have gotten much playing time.
Thoughts?
P.S. Don't mistake this for "not thinking about this season". I'm just wondering.

Re: DE positions next year?
There are a lot of projects in the mix at DE next year. I'm not sure any of them are ready to play.
Christian Holloway - looks athletic on film but we haven't heard anything about him since he's been here
Zach Wood - was in the mix earlier this year but isn't in the rotation now. Injuries?
Brian Cramer - hurt in fall camp, redshirt. Was a very under the radar recruit.
Jarrett Spencer - big rangey kid. Another mystery guy as we haven't seen him on the field.
Cameron Smith - heralded recruit. Still a young guy. Should be in the rotation.

Back off Warchild seriously.

Holloway is hopefully cleared. I know he had an issue with whether the NCAA would accept a class he took or not.

It wouldn't surprise me if the coaches went after a juco transfer to help shore up the DE position for next season, ala Marquis Frazier. Don't know what, if anything, the juco crop has this year that could fit the need.

Christian Holloway.
Will be one of the best defensive players SMU has ever had.
Mark this down and who said it. I will take receive my accolades in four years for the tremendous insight and vision I demonstrated on this day.
(the other side I have no idea - no one else really on this roster is very impressive, maybe Cameron Smith or Jarrett Spencer . . . some decent depth with Zach Wood and McCleneghen has some good size).

ojaipony,
Hope you're right. Also been somewhat impressed with McCleneghen and Conley.

I have never seen anyone more obsessed with someone that has done so little, even in highschool. What are you basing this off of? Have you seen him play besides a 2 minutes highlight real. I get that he has some measurables, but that only takes you so far.ojaipony wrote:Christian Holloway.

I just know. Trust me. (yes, i've seen him play in high school). smu has not had talent like this in that position (margus, the freak, aside - that guy's in a different category).PonyPlayer4 wrote:I have never seen anyone more obsessed with someone that has done so little, even in highschool.
