You have got to be insane to bet on Nevada. This is obviously a courtesy line because they went so far last year. Nevada will get manhandled inside, and ‘crybaby’ Fazekas will be whining all night. This line has moved from PICK to Texas -1.5. Texas should win by at least 6. Line will be Texas -2 or -3 at tip.

I understand what you are saying EastStang. It goes with your name. Personally, I would rather beat any of the old SWC teams or UT or OU or OSU or Ark or Ken. than any ACC team. It is a regional thing. I would take a victory over ANYONE who is good though right now with no complaint.
BTW- UT may not be any better than Nevada. I think it will be a very close game.

And how many Big 12 schools would be at the top of the ACC each year? KU, OSU, OU and even occasionally UT (FF only a few years ago). TT would be in the same class as NC St.

No way. Those big 12 teams might be able to grab a game once in a while from the ACC big boys, but if they played UNC, Wake, Duke, Md., GTech, etc., every year, they'd mostly be middle-of-the-pack teams. Kansas would do well (not the top, but well), now that they have a good coach, and OSU would be fine, too. Texas would be an average ACC team at best. OU only a hair better. And I'd take NCState over TTech about 70 percent of the time, and that number is only 70 because of what a great coach Bob Knight is.

The Big 12 can be proud that they'd smack around Clemson and Florida State, though.

Smullet,

The men in black who make the lines don't give "courtesy lines" to anyone. They are in this for one reason and one reason only: to make money. The line is moving because everyone and their dog is betting on this game so the line adjusts to make that bet a little less appealing.

By the way, I'm one of those insane people picking Nevada. A team that gets smoked by Colorado is not that impressive to me. Nevada is a very solid team.

Clemson had a losing record in the ACC, their main claim to fame was having Maryland's number all year long. We're talking a team with a winning record in the Big XII playing a team with a losing record in the ACC. A&M would be in the bottom half of the ACC. A loaded team like Maryland with a huge number of four star recruits had a losing record in the ACC this year with a great coach like Gary Williams. The ACC is stacked and packed in basketball. That being said, next year the Big East will certainly give them a run for their money. They're adding Cincinnati, Louisville, DePaul and Marquette to go along with U Conn, Syracuse, Villanova, Georgetown, Pitt, and Seton Hall. Between those two conferences, there will be about 15 dance tickets issued. That leaves 50 other slots for all the other conferences combined.

I hate to disillusion you Easterners but I believe the big bad ACC has just dwarfed the Big 12 by a total of 6 FF teams to 5 for the B 12 since 2000. You guys breath your own smoke a little too much(:

A$M was 8-8 in the Big 12. Not winning, but not losing either.

the people that don't understand the present superiority of Texas Basketball talent are really behind the times. That argument simply doesn't make sense anymore. Texas recruits have competed for Player of the Year honors in just about evey major and mid major conference in the country in just the last few years. This is the 21st Century folks not 1970.

As I watched at the Tiperarry Inn ( SP ) it was fun to mess with the Texas folk. It was nice to see the Wolf Pack WIN.
