This is the first thing I thought of. If that wasn't the case, or if they were practicing in Hattiesburg, God knows he probably wouldn't have made it.

Prayers and blessings to his family and his extended Coog family. Gods hand that he is still alive. Once again, thank you to our first responders and the medical community. Praying for a full recovery, every parent’s worst nightmare.

That's awful. For however much I say about Cougar King or U of H I don't wish any bad health to the players who risk it all for the fans. Get well soon DJ.

pretty close to home, that was the kid who ran back the INT for the TD when Coogs were trying to make their fourth quarter comeback against us. wow, thank god he is ok, I imagine the Coogs weren't real ready to play today against Tulsa and this terrible injury was probably a factor in them not having focus this week.

DJ got out of bed over the weekend and was walking around. It appears that he will make a full recovery and could possibly return to football in a year. Maybe he can apply to the NCAA for an additional year (he is a senior) but it is doubtful that he will get it since he started in every game this year.

When he turned down A&M, Ok State and Baylor to play for us, I knew he was going to be a hell of a player.
