I don't think we need to worry about CP or Bechum transferring. Cp would have 2 years of eligibility left after next year (he red shirted last year). Bechum redhirting this year would be in a position to have at least 1 more year of eligibility after CP plus he probably feels he could win the competition against him after next year.

If you have a culture where QBS are expecting to be a starter for 3+ years and not willing to wait 2 years to compete for the job you are in trouble. This is why Texas was having such a problem at QB because they couldn't get guys to come and wait for a chance to play. USC never had young guys play until Barkley and that happened because he won the competition. You want a program where you expect Redshirt sophmores to begin starting/competing for the job because in theory they know the system and are ready to step into it and excel from day 1.

What in hades are y'all talking about? The guy has a 63% pass completion ratio, five touchdowns to two interceptions and has run for four touchdowns the last three games. I think he's getting it.

Agreed. He has been much better recently. Hopefully that continues tomorrow!

I'd be surprised if either backup transfers. They're competitive guys and want to play, of course, but quarterbacks almost always have to wait their turn at most schools. If Gilbert is back, he'll be the presumed starter unless someone takes his job. But the other guys will get their chances.

He certainly doesn't seem to get it when we take on teams that aren't lousy. Not too many scrubs on next year's schedule to beat up on.

The problem is the offense system not the QB. He is throwing a lot better overall, but play calling and a system where it takes too long for the pass patterns to develop is what is holding the offense back.

It takes a while to learn any offense. See Stallion's earlier comments about the value of fourth year quarterbacks.

Frankly this isn't rocket science-it shouldn't take a seasoned vet like GG to adhere to JJ's system this long.

Took quite a while for a redshirt freshman at A&M to catch on. Not to mention a redshirt freshman at TCU who was thrown in unexpectedly.

Didn't look to good against UCF. I guess you are talking about against the teams that have won 1-3 games this year.......

A&M has two NFL tackles and the TCU oline is good as well. GG had to run for his life against UCF. Sure, he had a couple of errant passes, but most of that wasn't on him.

Apparently it is rocket science. Have we had a QB or WR who totally gets this offense yet?

Uh we have bigger problems than the QB position... Basically 2013 will just show that it was Dallas being couple miles away that got us into the big east rather than football success

I am talking about the constant harping that it takes 2 years to learn Jones' system. Jones might want to go learn a system that other schools use to beat us with freshmen.

JJ's offense is so complicated that we can't figure it out, but defenses have.
