I was about to add that fifty and also add in Jeremy since he had his share. Fortunately for SMU to fight USM couldn't catch with a crap except for those 3rd down catches that kept them going to get one TD and some few failed drives

Actually, I'm a spy for the Longview Lobos since they beat my brother's #2 ranked team in
bi-district 27-0 way back in the 70s.

Even my family found it painful to watch as I imagine it was for any new fan. It's great that they won no doubt, it's just the way they won that doesn't fill me with hope for the next two games. What would have been inspiring? Having more vertical passes rather than the easily predictable (sad for USM) bubble screens or our one ZL running play. I'm glad GG was in the option runs. It would have been nice to see the defense not give up too many third downs and making sure they get good fundamental tackles. So there is alot I wish was an improvement. I also wish CP and other backup squads got more reps in.
You are absurd. We held them to 100 yards fewer than any game they have played this season, but you are still [deleted] about the defense. Vertical passing games are super effective when you are playing against or with a 20 mph wind.
We held them to a season low in points, and had the second biggest margin of victory as any other team this year (Nebraska won by 29). You expect better from someone from Plano? I expect more intelligence from an smu grad.

Tulsa is our last chance to beat a team with a winning record this year. Go ponies!

Jason, give up, man. We could have held them to zero yards. We could have had 700 yards passing. Line could have run for 300 yards. It doesn't matter.
Some people are just so pissed off in general that they will not have a single positive thing to day about this team until JJ is gone.

People need to be able to rationally separate their emotions. I for one am still really upset about the loss to Tulane. If I were on the team I would remember the feeling before stepping on the field every game for the remainder of my career at SMU and do everything in my power never to feel that way again. Today, I am happy that SMU won. I hope we are able to say the same thing after the games against Rice and Tulsa.

we didn't play a great game, but now we are reduced to complaining about an easy win?
If we want something to complain about, it should be that only half of the announced 16k in attendance actually showed up

Re: 34-6. Very uninspiring win
Well, we all had a great time at the game. So call that inspired if you want.
The team and Gilbert continue to improve every week. Without all the ridiculous drops (DJ couldn't catch a cold last night), I imagine Gilbert would have had a terrific night statistically. He's exhibiting nice touch now. The designed QB draws have added another dimension to the O.
If you factor in all the injuries the team has sustained this year, I have few complaints. For now, just beat Rice.

Pretty much. See the SFA, UTEP, and Memphis wins.
