I think it would have to have been on the phone if at all because I don't believe Head Coaches can recruit off campus during season

June must have misunderstood - He thought the rule was Head Coaches simply can't recruit.Stallion wrote:I think it would have to have been on the phone if at all because I don't believe Head Coaches can recruit off campus during season
What we obtain too cheap.. we esteem too lightly. It is persistence alone that gives everything its value.

He's partially right. OUR HC can't recruit.WorldStang wrote:June must have misunderstood - He thought the rule was Head Coaches simply can't recruit.Stallion wrote:I think it would have to have been on the phone if at all because I don't believe Head Coaches can recruit off campus during season
Just saw this on the other site. I'm going to hold off on a rant until it's verified.

OH, so he is not going to be the new HC at ARKY Land ... glad we got that cleared up. That was the rumor last week right! But, I guess he still could be now with this info.
I can see JJ or any coach in today’s social media world telling an 18 kid (they won't tell), who is employed and under contract to go look elsewhere. No chance at all that has legal ramifications not to mention career implications for the future. I know, he's going to hang up his whistle and retire into the sunset to the islands (poss.). Dan Rather didn't start this rumor or fax something over did he. That's a BIG accusation to make ... better triple check the facts, the source and/or motives.

Re: Mayday! Mayday!
If this is true, I think we all need to message Hart and let him know what JJ is telling our own recruits. This is career suicide for a coach to say this to a potential SMU recruit.
Man, I will never get JJ. I'm thankful for what he did here, but he could have been so much better. just never looked like he even enjoyed it after the first few years. Time to cut the ties and search for replacement.

Correction on my post ... I said "I can see JJ or any coach" ... it should read "I Can't see JJ or any coach"

I'm with you guys. All I care about is beating Rice, too.

By now, do we have more evidence of June "de-recruiting" for SMU than actual recruiting? We should get out an overhead and discuss.

I still don't see the evidence for this thread to begin with.SMUer wrote:By now, do we have more evidence of June "de-recruiting" for SMU than actual recruiting? We should get out an overhead and discuss.

Re: Mayday! Mayday!
I guess my point was we have sparse evidence for either. ZING!
Re: Mayday! Mayday!
Good grief, this is such a dumb thread..11, would have figured.
Re: Mayday! Mayday!
The "eat your young" mentality some "fans" here have is embarrassing. If you have complaints, fine -- contact Rick Hart's office. But to incessantly get on here and rant about our own coach, the guy who ruined our holidays by getting our team to those damn bowl games, is inexcusable. I agree there are things that can be changed and improved, but the endless whining on a fan message board (that is seen by recruits and will come up on internet searches by future coaches) makes us look like awful fans. It needs to stop.

This is pretty calm compared to the UT, LSU and especially Alabama boards. The governor of Alabama is questioning Saben's play calling at the end of Saturdays game.
