Re: New Big East West Division Blows
Please drop the Big XII wishful thinking and 'embrace the East' We need to be high performing in the stronger BE. Only that will make a difference in any scenario.mr. pony wrote:Big Least a joke.
We'd have been better off winning CUSA 2-3 times then getting our Big 12 invite.
('course when you have a coach who's only interested in winning 7 and packing his Crocs and jocks for Waikiki, that's sorta tough.)
Regional. It's where it's at.

Mr pony - yours might be the dumbest post i have ever read on this board - which is saying a lot.
Re: New Big East West Division Blows
Mr Pony, the money will be much more and the west division is regional.

I think it had more to do with keeping Cincy and UL together, and it's temporary until they get to 14 or 16 teams, when Temple reverts East.Charleston Pony wrote:They had to put Temple in the west because putting Louisville in the west would make the eastern division the weak one. This looks to be about setting up Boise vs Louisville in the title game and making Temple pay their dues with travel
Re: New Big East West Division Blows
You are giving too much credit to a down Boise State, a middle of the road SDSU team, and a Houston team that may not recover if they do not get another coach. And not even to mention that Temple has got blasted in their last 4 conference games.Charleston Pony wrote:I think you guys are overrating the current Big East schools. They may have been "BCS" in name/privilege, but with a few exceptions in recent years, hardly deserving. Don't lump everyone in the western division with SMU. Boise can beat anyone in the Big East and SDSU is competitive. Houston is one year removed from having been a strong "non-BCS" team. I think we may surprise some people as to how well the western division will compete with those eastern schools

I hope that scheduling "conflicts" in the new conference prohibit us playing A&M and Texas Tech in 2013. Keep Baylor and TCU (of course) but scheduling has got to become a part of our formula for success in the ongoing development of the program. Baylor axed us in the Big 12 (10) schedule re-do, as others have done from time-to-time. Shirley, it's possible.

Re: New Big East West Division Blows
Only Louisville, Cincinnati, and UCONN have made BCS bowls. UCONN made one by default. I honestly don't see what everyone is complaining about. USF and UCONN are terrible this year. UCF has one great season followed by a terrible season the following year. Rutgers is good, but not great.Rebel10 wrote:Charleston Pony wrote:They had to put Temple in the west because putting Louisville in the west would make the eastern division the weak one. Way wrong. All but one team in the east is a former BCS team. West has only Boise which has been weakened. Rutger or Cincinnati would be a force in the west as well maybe even USF and UConn as well since SDSU beat Boise. East would have been the stronger division even without Louisville. Western division sucks.
San Diego State and Temple have been solid the last few seasons. SMU for the most part wins the games it is supposed to and every now and then beats a solid team (Nevada, TCU, Pitt). Houston, aside from this season, has been solid the last several years. Boise State is the signature team of the new Big East. Memphis is terrible, but that is the only bad team in the west.

Re: New Big East West Division Blows
We play 4 OOC games in 2013. We only play 3 OOC games in 2015 because the BE is adding 2 teams (Navy and another). So a scheduling conflict comes in 2015 not 2013. So you will just have to take a n OOC butt licking next year and like it.Bergermeister wrote:I hope that scheduling "conflicts" in the new conference prohibit us playing A&M and Texas Tech in 2013. The west division is a MWC, CUSA, MAC hodgepodge. BE does not deserve BCS standing if it makes it's divisions like this.mustangxc wrote:Only Louisville, Cincinnati, and UCONN have made BCS bowls. Re: New Big East West Division Blows
I thought these divisions were only temporary? From what I've heard, the divisions could be a complete geographical scramble if they get 14 teams in 2015.

Re: New Big East West Division Blows
The west division is the best of all the non-aq conferences. The east is the what remains from the the current Big East, which has been labeled a weak conference. Not sure what you are upset about.Rebel10 wrote:The west division is a MWC, CUSA, MAC hodgepodge. BE does not deserve BCS standing if it makes it's divisions like this.
