Probably some speculation, but this guy has been dead on with just about everything he writes re: Big East. Read on:

And then there is the issue of a new television contract, which is now in the serious negotiation stage with multiple networks now that the exclusive period of dealing with ESPN has expired.
Expect a compromise on that front as well, with the strong possibility of a two or three network package for football and basketball which could split up telecasts of Big East football regular season games, the Big East championship football game, a Big East Saturday football package, a Big East regular season basketball package and a Big East tournament package. Big East officials are hoping that the combined money will come close to generating a $15-17 million per school per year.
I don't think you would say that to the press (even as an anonymous source) unless it was somewhat close to being true. McMurphy's $60M/year can kiss off.
The combo thing is the key to our world. It will be fun to see this come to fruition. If they are off by 25% its still beautiful. Would love to spank ESPN with this.
Like I wrote in another thread (short version), it will be a CBS, NBC share (hopefully fox) since they have the lowest amount of coverage. I expect NBC will be a 75% owner in this deal with both combine paying 15 mil a team. If fox is in then I expect another 2-3. Either way as long as we get 10 mil that's a huge increase. Lets hope this works.
