Rolando Blackman connection?

Postby PonyPlayer4 » Fri Nov 16, 2012 12:34 pm

Can someone please fill me in on the Rolando Blackman connection with the program? Now I have seen him in pictures attending practices. I also saw him at the first home game against LMU, and that he attended the TCU game.

Good basketball guy to have around, I was just wondering what his involvement was if any.

Ro and his wife lived across the street from me when I lived in Preston Trails. Great people and nice to have him interested in our program.

Was wondering that myself. He is KState so what is the LB connection? The fact the traveled over to TCU to watch us is very cool.

Ro always shot around the courts when I was in school. I shot with him a couple of times.

The connection is he is an NBA veteran that spent most of his career in Dallas with the Mavericks. He is also a basketball junkie and enjoys having major college basketball in his backyard. Similar to Michael Irvin and Troy Aikman supporting our football team.

I am sure he respects coach Brown and knows him through connections. Maybe he wants to move into College coaching? Are we still hosting the Mavs for pre-season camps?

Not sure I saw him around during Doh times.

Easy guys...

His olympic coach was Larry Brown. His college roommate was Tim Jankovich. He also works for the Mavs in scouting and mainly stays local. So there you go.

Also, there were 2 other Mavs scouts with Rolando last night. Not sure it means much, but they were at the game sitting next to him.

Exactly on the Tim Jank connection...roommates, teammates and friends. Brown is a mentor also.
