I agree Teasips is an Aggie thing done by Aggies. Nothing an Aggie does should ever be copied or accepted as normal in civilized soceity. I hope we don't see some of you humpin' it, hollarin' yells, carrying sabres and pickin' your nose in public. I invite you to examine your life if you are emulating an Aggie.

I agree. Calling UT fans Teasips is not really appropriate when SMU fans have been seen wearing t-shirts saying "You'll work for us someday."

Good times.
At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

I agree don't imitate the Aggies. Mustangs don't follow sheep, Aggies do. I couldn't resist that one. Although I do give the Aggies some credit. No one else would have the cojones to barbecue BEVO.

First - Dale Hanson is a Husker fan.

Second - I have a real issue with anyone associated with SMU referring to students/athletes/alums of the University of Texas as teasips. this is a term that Aggies use to try to put down Longhorns, inferring that someone who sips tea is more refined, and thus less of a redneck? I would go out on a limb and say that there are more people at SMU with backgrounds/upbringings more likely associated with the act of sipping tea than there are in Austin (unless it's some kind of funky herbal tea).

If you can give me a good reason why someone from SMU should call someone from UT (yeah, U of T) a teasip,

Now i will rebutle... it doesn't matter what kind of fan dale hansen is, he helped Channel 8/ DMN (Both owned by Belo--interesting) take down smu knowing this would put his name on the map...in '87 he had only been here 7 years... Did he really have to unveil all the evidence to Bobby Collins and co. on live tv? I do not think so...

Now to the main "issue" of "teasips" My family has very deep smu roots and I have been raised calling UT people "teasips" my dad was a conference champ runner and track/cross country coach, and he hates ut sports more than anyone i know.. yes i know its oringinally an A&M bit, but during the greatness of the SWC A&M and SMU peopel hated UT. I truly hate UT b/c of the UT fans I grew up around and b/c they turned us in during the 80's... if you don't believe me I will be happy to give you this book
[u]A Payroll To Meet
written by bob whitford... i have read this book several times and it just makes my blood boil everytime i read it...so if you don't want to call them "teasips" as the great Lebowski would say "thats like your opinion man"

As for me I will alway refer to them as "teasips"

mr. stallion... wow have we disagreed lately.. oh well its fun...

let me ask you a question, Have you ever been to an A&M game?
If not, well then you will see that they have the best school spirit in America next September when we go down there...

Yes there are plenty of jokes about A&M, but from what i have read about how smu fans don't care about our teams( and they show it) any real smu fan would love to have just half of the support that A&M fans give...

They replayed the report on Channel 8 not long ago. It was not "on live TV". It had been taped a week before. They held it until they knew it was true. They ran it by legal. If you look at the original report, it really is pretty innocuous.

To our Aggie friends, all I can say is that is I guess "Goat Ropers need love too!" I'm sorry that you feel bad when people tell Aggie jokes, but you bring it on yourselves. It was an Aggie who drew a sabre on an SMU cheerleader for setting foot on the hallowed Kyle Field. It was the Aggies who kept their mascot on ice for an entire summer just to have a funeral for a dog. It is the Aggies who squat and grab their doodads on a kickoff. It is the Aggies whose band members are soo dumb they don't even know when to turn unless someone blows a whistle. It was Aggies who kidnapped the Baylor Bear and tried to stuff it into a car only to have the bear destroy the car and nearly kill them. So don't whine to us if we make fun of you. Perk up there's always a sheep in the pasture.

too Dooby:

ok so i was wrong about showing it live... but Hansen and his gang knew it was all true... hell that Stanley guy was all over tv telling all...

that still doesn't change the fact that he did for major publicity and to feed his own ego.. he constantly tells people on the ticket that he has an ego and doesn't care what people say or think about him...

to you eastang: those are some the better aggie jokes i have heard... now thanks to that brave smu cheerleader the choir's sabre are no longer sharp

Those aren't jokes, those events really happened. And yes, there are a bunch of great Aggie jokes and I'm sure some of my Mustang friends will be glad to share some of them with you. There's the one about the Aggie vasectomy. Aggie goes to his doctor and tells his doctor that his girlfriend doesn't want to breed Aggies and wants him to get one of them VI-SEC-TOE-MEES. The doctor tells him to get two cherry bombs, light them put them in a tin can and count to ten. He thought that was weird so he went to another doctor, an SMU grad who explained all the facts about such a surgery, and the Aggie looked befuddled. The doctor asked are you an Aggie? "Why yes." The doctor then told him to get two cherry bombs, light them, put them in a tin can and count to ten. So the Aggie did it. I'll let you visualize the Aggie counting to ten (finger by finger).

to answer your question I've been to more than 20 games in Kyle Field against SMU, UT, Tech and others. Remember the other day I said my cousin Ted Ed Winn scored the winning points in Texas A&M's most historic game in its victory over Centre College in 1922 in the game that spawned the 12th Man Tradition. Still don't feel the need to hump it, "grab my gun" or yell at old ladies to "Get off the damn grass". In short, Aggies are "Odd" and "normal' people shouldn't follow the strange habits of Odd people.
