James Cleveland just picked up his first offer...from Iowa. Coach Olin out at Bayton Lee has sent two players to Iowa in the past three years (Drew Tate and Charles Godfrey) and has a good pipeline to that program for his kids.

Based on the kind of talent Coach Ferentz has recruited to Iowa, I would think the younger Cleveland might be worth offering. Now.

Completely agree with you Pony, this looks like one little brother we don't want to get away.

Is there room in next year's class, if everything works out (just go with me on that), to add Cleveland, Tennell AND the younger Burley?

If we got all three it might cause something that SMU hasn't had in a long time...too much talent at one position.
That said, Tennell is a very long shot and Cleveland is leaning towards Iowa so lets not worry about having too many WRs and recruit these three hard!

yeah that's almost as big a problem as an SMU coach concerned about running out of fingers to put his championship rings on.

Thanks for the update, Stallion.
Did he say in the report that SMU and 'Zona are his favorites? Or do they stand out to you for some reason?
thanks

New Update: SMU, Arizona and Arizona St his favorites with Iowa lurking in the background after recent impressive visit. As for SMU he said it would be diffucult to turn down opportunity to play with his brother which has been a dream of his.

Very much like his brother, James should be among the top receivers in the greater Houston area. He plays in a pass-heavy offense, and he's option #1. I have reports of 4.55 and 4.6 in the 40. Good hands, and runs crisp routes. Tough player who's not afraid to go over the middle and take a hit after making the catch. Uses his body well to keep himself between the ball and defenders. Also has some schools projecting him as a DB, but most see him staying at WR.
