Doherty totally underperformed, but we kept him around...The program was in shambles and the team quit trying.

We fired him, had a tough coaching search, but then Larry Brown came in and breathed new life, had an instant recruiting bump and gave SMU hope.

We need the same thing in football. Fire June, pay the money for the right coach, and then let's start the road back to respectability.
