I remember about FSU didn't know about Clemson. I figured Clemson would wait til SEC so they could be with USC

Expansion is about increasing geographic footprint so Clemson will never be in the SEC because of South Carolina

Espn reporting Maryland is in serious talks with Big 10. If Maryland leaves they supposedly take Rutgers. Does that mean ACC makes a run at Louisville, maybe?

If you are SMU, you better plan as if it isn't stopping anytime soon.

We now have a model for success, LB, we simply need to apply it to FB.

Question is, what are the odds the ACC would be interested in SMU? unfortunately, I don't think they are great.

I agree but Larry Brown might be the saving grace. I know it is a long long long shot but SMU is committed to basketball, higher profile thanks to LB and recruiting and opens up Texas recruiting markets to ACC even more. Then again I can always dream

ACC won't take Louisville. Academically speaking, Louisville doesn't fit the ACC's profile.

espn ticker said that Acc changed the amount to leave the conference to 50 Million. Not sure many schools can afford that.

I still call BS on this. Why in the world would Maryland leave the ACC? The money in the B1G won't be that much better...

I can't wait until the first 11am ESPN Maryland-Purdue football game. Talk about changing the channel to anything else!

could someone explain to me why Maryland would leave their historic rivals to join a conference of fat, drunk midwesterners with hairy legged overweight women and boring football that are basically canadians and play football in inhabitable weather for at least 5/6 pf the year? If the pay was 2x it would not be worth it.

Exactly. Not to mention having to play basketball games with scores in the 50s as well.

I still think this one is BS.

There's some question legally about whether the $50m exit fee is unconscionable. FSU and Maryland apparently expressed doubt about that when it was agreed upon. The previous highest exit fees that were paid were around $12m- by Colorado and Mizzou in the B12, i think.
