It gives them one more shot at us before we leave for the Big East. I know if I were a Tulsa player, and saw my team consistently play better football than SMU the last few years, I'd be pissed off that I'm getting left in CUSA and didn't get courted by another conference.

BH- you are correct and that is probably the only reason that Tulsa would be fired up.

Tulsa would love to knock us out of the bowl streak. However, I could see them squandering the game to help CUSA get bowl money and hurt us by not giving a good enough reason to fire JJ. Its kind of a win - half lose thing for us. If we lose, it will be extremely hard to have any reason to keep the current regime of football in place. If we win, we continue with the bowl visits and hopefully end the season on a high note regardless if its against a [deleted] team

I wonder if Blankenship will even play his first team. He may want to save them for the championship.
At best they will probably only play a token amount of time. Then again, their second team could probably beat us if we play like Rice.

Just depends on whether Tulsa wants to humiliate us and blow us out by 40 or let us win get stuck with JJ and get blown out by the big east. Im hoping that we win and we will still fire JJ that work both ways. Im just thinking that with RGT and his I dont want to use any money thinking, he will justify keeping JJ in.

I guess one possible solution would be for the AD to hire a coach in waiting (with authority to offer schollies) and make him an assistant for next year. That would get us a new coach, let jj know he is finished here and maybe even help to get a few good recruits. Of course for that to happen we would need to have an AD with some cajones instead of a 'casper milquetoast'.

I think they just need to make it as uncomfortable as possible for JJ to make him want to quit and accept a lower buyout. You would think he would want a buyout before the Big East starts simply because his reputation (if not all ready) would be tarnished.
