A Sane View on Realignment
Most people on these boards seem to want a handout. Realistically the only way SMU can ever get an invitation to a power conference is by performing well on the field. Utah and TCU didn't get invitations by going 5-7 every year and touting their market size. SMU has to force their way into the conversation by winning 10+ games a year and filling up stadiums.

True, the Big East was a handout that turned out to be fool's gold. Time for us to get a new HC so we can get serious about winning.

Oh what the hell...every conference needs a doormat...offer our services.SMU_Alumni11 wrote:Yes or negotiate with the larger conferences to basically say we dont really want the money just the stability and shelter. Please take us in for old times sake...
SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.

Haha hey i rather be a relevant doormat than a future big fish of Div 1-aa... just saying. At least if we got 5 mil we could cover our coach and some extra, and hopefully win enough to renegotiate more money.PK wrote:Oh what the hell...every conference needs a doormat...offer our services.SMU_Alumni11 wrote:Yes or negotiate with the larger conferences to basically say we dont really want the money just the stability and shelter. I thought that was why our COC is paying the current coach $2.2 million per year?zimo wrote:Most people on these boards seem to want a handout.
