It would be a little odd to even see an announcement about that, since that would indicate that the administration thinks there was doubt. Whether or not that's the case, it seems unlikely there will be an announcement. SMU is a place that talks about people coming to campus, not staying or leaving. In fact, if JJ leaves, either by his choice or the school's, I would assume the only announcement would be one that trumpets the arrival of his replacement.

I'm with you. Never miss a game, unless there's a wedding or funeral within the family. I have missed two home football games and three home basketball games since my freshman year, and no way am I bailing on this team. The bowl games have been too much fun.

You've been commuting to games? I thought you said you didn't commute from Peru ...

why are you being so quick to assume that our AD, who has been at the job for about 6 weeks now, has no plan? don't you think it would have been pretty silly to fire JJ first thing on campus?

for god's sake, give him some time. didn't it take orsini about twice as long to find LB as hart has been here? this isn't an AD issue. might be in the future, but i find it hard to blame him at this point.

and why do you just assume there is no plan in place? becaase they didn't send you an email laying out their plan?
Where do you get off bringing logical thought in to this witch hunt?
jpe747 wrote:As for me I doubled my tickets to 4 because JJ has got SMU on track. I wanted to help 'grow' the crowd. I use to come to SMU games for free just to listen to the band. I amagine if people start bailing the big guys could decide football isn't worth the fight and I will have to go to concerts to hear the Mustang band.

As for me I plan to buy season tickets for 4 next season and hope we can move forward no matter who the coach is.

Just go to listen to the band / alumni band and do the Beans shuffle. You'll have a good time if that's all you expect and an even better time if you like football.

Guess I am just an idiot. I will buy my tickets and go to games just like I did back in the Pre Jones era. I don't go to watch the coach, I go to watch the Mustangs.

And I have watched them even in the worse of times. That, for me, will not change regardless of the coach.

I normally attend 2-3 games per yr. with my family. That means that I buy 6-8 tickets per game. If you calculate it out that is about equivalent to 2-3 books of season tickets. I also used to contribute money as well.
I did not attend any games this year due to the ASU fiasco. Not because jj looked for another job but because he was recruiting for ASU while an employee of SMU. That to me demonstrated a complete lack of ethics and integrity on his part. Even worse was the fact that our admin was willing to accept that lack of integrity which in my opinion meant that they condoned his activity.

We all want the best for our university or we wouldn't be on this board. I choose to not support the university at this time because of their actions supporting his lack of ethics and integrity. I can understand that there are numerous on this board that have the same lack of ethics and integrity and hence desire to continue to support jj and the schools happiness with less than mediocre performance. To each his own.
