Re: Big East News
Don't see a discussion of NCAA Tournament credit units which is how NCAA tournament revenue is disbursed. Don't those credits remain with the Conference not the schools? Not sure what happens if Conference dissolves but that would be a huge consideration because each credit is worth big bucks over the course of several future seasons

Re: Big East News
From the San Diego Union Tribune today, SDSU and Boise State each have an out and in one scenario, SMU may be a factor.
http://www.utsandiego.com/news/2012/nov ... d-sdsus-b/
In summary, SDSU remains committed unless there is no other BE school west of the Rockies. Boise can get out, if there is no other school west of the Mississippi, such as Houston, SMU and SDSU.
In both cases, they want the BE media and revenues and appear to be locked to the NBE, unless they are individually isolated. San Diego and Boise will want one more western school, select from BYU or Air Force, so the West Division for new BE will be important to the future. In the east, Louisville and Cincinnati are key. UConn is not key.
So ACC, may be at greater risk given the threat of more more of their conference schools being picked off. We may be in reasonable shape with the BE or with abandoned ACC schools. Lastly, given the emphasis on media markerts, being in DFW will certainly help.
Happy Turkey Day, Ponyfans.

Re: Big East News
Exactly. At some point the ACC is going to be in worse shape than the BIG EAST. One will absorb the other as the No. 5 conference.

Who would have thought the ACC would be in trouble especially after they got ND.

That's funny. The ACC's going away.
Re: Big East News
why is the ACC going way, because they lost Maryland? Not sure anybody will notice really in the end. Maryland is pretty irrelevant in football. Its just not much of a blow to the ACC really. They should get aggressive and invite West Virginia now (who must really be looking forward to more trips to Ames and Lubbock). Maybe Louisville too. Wonder if Vandy might actually think about leaving the SEC, they would be a better fit and far more successful in the ACC.

Re: Big East News
No way Vandy leaves SEC. Dollars far outweigh competitive.
