Garrett's td run
Since I doubt that play is in the playbook, did GG make that call himself? Was it just instinct when he saw the defense? Either way, it was a great play.

That was called. Line blocked & receivers took their man to the sidelines. All routes were long to clear the middle. JJ must have seen when Tulsa was spread out in 3rd & long that Tulsa went man and blitzed. Absolutely a perfect call

But I thought our coaches couldn't coach and we never did anything new?

yes - i will give JJ credit since i rag on his play calling a ton. That was a perfect call for the situation - gilbert looked surprised when he just kept going down the middle and they couldn't catch him. GG is surprisngly fast in the open.

Right. It was open on the play before when GG threw out-of-bounds. Looked like they spread it wider and Gilbert was ready for the wide open spaces.ponyte wrote:That was called. Re: Garrett's td run
I'm watching the replay on the Fox Sports Houston feed. I can not believe how wide open the middle of the field was when G2 took off for his TD run. You could have driven a couple of Mack trucks thru that hole.
GO MUSTANGS!
