Next year will be tough no matter who is coach

Going 6-6 in a very bad CUSA is one thing but next year will be a true showing of what we have. Should be fun to see what June does.

We are really more of a 9-3 team than a 6-6 team though.

The numbers will still add up to 12.

Obviously, I was just stirring the waters - but we could have been anywhere from 9-3 to 3-9 this season without much imagination, so who knows what happens next year.

We lost all of the games we were supposed to going in to the season (depended on what Gilbert did). Baylor, A&M, TCU and UCF

We lost 2 games that were inexcusable in Tulane and Rice. Both those teams are BAD...both games were away. Next year we will probably do the exact same thing.

At 6-6 we are at least relevant, but it is still hard to get behind. It is even harder to be willing to spend Christmas in Honolulu...I can say nothing but thanks to June, but I really wish he would just retire. We need someone to continue this momentum! I say we try to get the cult hero Major Applewhite. Let him be the head coach and assemble a young staff and recruit the same area he has been for Texas. All the UT fans will have a small interest in Major's success. UT fans love Major. He is their Rudy. He would be really expensive and also really impossible to get away from UT, but it sure would work. What about Gus Malzahn, Cliff Kingsbury....

HOPEFULLY a full offseason will give GG the opportunity to gel with his WRs.

HOPEFULLY the new RB from Texas and Zach's bro can step up and give us a solid run game.

I have no idea what to expect from our defense...it could be ugly.

Im hoping that we can win 1 game against tech/baylor and 1 against TCU. In the Big East, I hope we play competitively and not get bogged down with Big ol BSU. Thats why it imperative we get a new coach that can handle being an underdog.

What's the least amount of wins and least amount of work that might qualify us to go back to the Hawaii Bowl for a third time? We'll probably do that. This team achieves its goals.

Defensively, I know it sounds silly, but we may be better next year. A lot of the young DL got time this year. Woods and barnes will be solid, Smith is back, Maybe Holliway? At LB we lose T Reed and JGD, but Seals, Pope, Yenga are all going to be good players. Our secondary will be much, much better. Haness and Randolph will grow, JR and Horace come back, Montes is ready. The secondary will be the best we have had in 10 years.

Offensively, who knows? Our young OL should be ready and are more physically talented than the players we used this year. Some of the young WR should be ready to go as well. We are deep at RB. But who knows how that will turn out.

The big thing I don't know is who the 8 players are that are not practicing because of academic issues. That might tell the story as much as anything else.

The Hawaii Bowl carrot goes away after this season, not really sure how June will motivate the players without it.

Hopefully we can negotiate a clause that if SMU goes undefeated we play against a power conference team in Hawaii.
