#97 that June has been using at tight end the last few games is Ben Hughes. He is listed as #50 on the roster.
Are the innovations on the offense Phillips influence. JJ said at the start of the year that most of the new stuff would be Phillips. Should we be adding the TE to those lists of future depth charts?
Noted that there was an entire DL rotation all year. That has to be good for DL expreience. Add to that Zach Wood was significant when healthy.

Makes sense. I saw him on the field after the game, and it wasn't Nick Reed.

Yeah, Fuller should have been out there more. Guess it took him awhile to learn the offense. Only thing I can think of.
In the Fall, they were running Fuller exclusively out of the slot, because he was a reciever that could be used in blocking packages. The Bradley Haynes package. He doesn't have the speed to stretch the field, so that was the other reason I think he wasn't put on the outside.
I think once that outside position became such a disaster, they pushed him outside to see what would happen and he did well. I think the success Haynes had last year in helping out the running game tempted them to try it again. Fuller has always shown great hands, so it was nice to get a consistent player on the field .

makes sense. didn't want to be too blunt about it, but the 97 i say saturday was a big white guy. reed is a big black guy. don't know how to say that without it reading strangely.
Still doesn't answer my second question as to why he doesn't get his name on the back of his jersey by the last game of the season. Even if he switched numbers, they should have gotten his name on the jersey.

Great synopsis JasonB. Thanks! I agree with all of it (except everyone knows my feelings on Holloway so I won't repeat here). I had forgotten all about Sam Rice. And don't forget Lowe. I think he will live up to his initial recruiting out of HS - he seems to have really leaned out. I also like Gaines and Taylor coming in to give even more WR competition (we should run a fast paced, 2-3 deep rotating WR corp - we have the depth now more than ever . . . GG should be licking his chops and aiming for 4k yards next year . . . I hope Traylon is a great blocker, he could be very special for us). I'm excited about Richards and JR and hoping that Randolph really matures (physically and mentally) in the offseason - he could be special but still a question mark for me (so Scott IS returning - I thought he was a senior??). And what's up with Roundtree? Another big, athletic safety but he never seemed to have even sniffed the field this year.

Pretty sure the #97 I saw Saturday was a big black guy. I have been wrong once or twice in my life but do not think I am this time.

I thought #22 (Greenbauer ?) played pretty well at safety considering we were playing a team that was undefeated in conference play and runs a very fast-paced offense. He looks like a guy that can play a little bit.
